Just bought the new USB ego battery, is it bad for the battery to use it as a passthrough while its charging? will it shorten battery life? also, how long does it take to charge?

about as long as it takes to drain...I think a few hours on the charge time.
I really don't know about the vaping and charging...I would not keep it on the charger once its reached the fully charged mark but if your using it while its recharging, well I do that all the time and mine is still going strong 5 months later.

I've had mine at least a month and i usually keep it plugged in on my desk... never noticed a problem.
Btw, that's why i got it, but it certainly does make the rounds in my shirt pocket away from the desk from time to time.

I use mine all the time while it's plugged in. And I've never noticed how long it takes to charge because I usually plug it in when I get home and vape on it all evening, unplug before going to bed and take it with me to work the next day.
BTW, for safety reasons, don't leave any passthru's plugged in unattended.

no, its not giving 5V, but some people report a slightly increased performance while connected to USB.
but you are still vaping from the battery while its getting charged.
it is my understanding that passthroughs are designed to be used while plugged in!! And can be unplugged and used like a regular battery. i bought a passthrough because I work at a desk all day, so it just makes sense. I use it plugged in all week, and on weekends I unplug and bring home and use it as a batt, only plugging it in when it dies, just like any other batt.
I do notice better performance on my eGo PT while it's plugged in.
