Hi - No cigs here since Nov 1, 2015 - yay me!

Question - just got a bottle of juice by mail, and the 'born on' date is Jul 2015! Seems like 7 months is a LONG time. It is NicoTicket Absolute Creme Bruele 15ml, 12mg, if that makes a difference. I have bought many bottles of juice from them and other vendors over these last few months (TOO many...if I'm awake, I vape!) and all of those were 'born' in the last thirty days before I got them, at the longest. This has a strong smell of alcohol, like booze, and a slight vanilla. I have never vaped this flavor, so maybe that is just what is is supposed to smell like? And it tastes like it smells, although I have a never-ending case of vape tongue and can't taste much :(

So.....is it bad? If no one else gets juice from a vendor that is that old, I will contact the company. I know flavors change as they steep...but 7 months - wow.

Catalan Cream or Creme Bruele does nothing for me. I suspect it depends on the individual personal taste preferences.
7 month steep---Good stuff, "Pre-Steeped" and may improve. I would worry about juices less than 4 weeks old.
This has a strong smell of alcohol
Could take the cap off the juice and let it breath for an hour or so, then give it a good shake and repeat till smell evaps off/lessens.
Best to go to a B&M and bring your juice with you then do a compare taste test. Testing between the two, may at least let you know if you like the general flavor.

If that is in the brown bottle, the age (born on date) is almost meaningless. My first bottle I left on the shelf for two months before opening it. And I found that ACB tends to be a bit too much on the tobacco note in the beginning. Without it being able to breathe, it doesn't age a day. You'll need to open the bottle and leave it open for about 8 hours. then cap it and shake it vigorously. Let it sit for a day or so, then shake it again. Next week open it up for another 4 hours or so. After a couple of weeks, the smell will level off and it will be very good. The bottle I'm working on right now was born on 4/17/2015. I just finished a bottle that was born in 9/2014, but that one was in the older plastic bottle. The plastic bottles were permeable so air could penetrate the plastic and it would age. Mine were very dark. In the brown bottles, no air can get to it so it really doesn't age at all. If you get some out, you'll notice that the liquid is quite light. With ACB, the darker, the better. And the only way to do that is open it up and let it breathe, and shake it a lot.

Don't worry... most last as long as 24 months.
You can just put a bit in a tank, or dripper if you happen to have one, and try it.
If it tastes horrible, don't vape it :nah:
If you don't want to flush a tank or toss a coil, you can always first put a drop on your finger and taste it.
Don't worry, you won't OD or die... you can just taste it.

Dang, that is a lot of babysitting! lol Guess that is why they had that particular one on sale! :) Yes, it is the brown bottle, and I will do the required babysitting and give it a shot later.

Thanks everyone for the info!

@Liz W - I started DIY eliquids about 3 weeks ago and made some really good ones! Then I followed another recipe online, did a small sample taste test, and then made a 15mL bottle of it. 2 of the flavorings in it contained Ethyl Alcohol. It was barely noticeable in the small taste test. But...in the 15mL batch, it was so "bitey or stingey" strong and gave me a headache, that I couldn't vape it all. I thought I'd made my first "dud"!

For the next 4 days the only time the bottle was capped was when I shook the heck out of it to cause a bunch of bubbles in it. Then I'd leave it uncapped again to let the EA containing bubbles evaporate off. I did the shaking about 5 times each day. Finally...enough of the EA was gone that it became very vapable and enjoyable. It was definitely worth "the babysitting" I'd done to it. So I'd say give it a shot with your ABC, too!

Liz, you may want to pop into the Nickoticket threads to get a bit more insight to their juices. Although NT suggests some of the juices are good FOOB, most folks prefer them after a good, long steep. There's only one NT juice that I vape, and I won't touch it for 6 months (once opened to breathe). I have several bottles that are two years old and are delish.
