Hello Community!
Just completing my first week smoke free and decided to join the forum after lurking a little. Having quit once (without any help or patches) back in 2006 I knew what it takes.... and I should say with E-cigarette I don't even feel I quit anything... So happy about this product and so sorry did not tried it before...

After couple of trials with single packed disposables, I bought a kind of kit from Eonsmoke made of rechargeable, and 2 flavoured Cartidges packs from EON smoke on a local gas station,

All is great but I am having hard time understanding how much it should last or when to dispose...

Each cartridge says 18mg which I understand is equal one pack of analogics. I use to smoke barely less than a pack a day, so I am assuming one cartridge I should be good at least 1 day....

Instead I noticed that after a while when I puff it does not hit me anymore like new ones. I realized I am consuming them at a quite fast pace (I consumed one tobacco and one Coffe in almost one day). I am not sure its me puffing to much and too hard, the quality of product (which based on what I read is a pretty expensive entry level) or else...

Furthermore, the tobacco, after being uses seems to release a strange (my impression) taste like burning plastic which has concerned me a little... Anyone experienced that?

While I am still happy with the results, I am concerned I might be putting more nicotine to my body I used so increasing my dependency. I was wondering if some of the 'experts" can share some thoughts and guide me in the right direction....

I am by no means an expert but what I can tell you is that all of the "estimations" on how long a cart or tank or batt will last you is purely speculation. It all depends on how much you vape, how long your pull is, and how big your delivery device is. I am using a Vamo V2 with a Vivi Nova perched on top and was told that a tank would last me about a day. I can sometimes go two or three days depending on my usage. I am not familiar at all with Eonsmoke or whatever but I do know that there are some really good low cost options for getting into vaping. You can check PBusardo's youtube channel as he has a great video about entry level vaping. As for the burning plastic taste, you may be burning up the atomizer and that will definitely give you a burnt taste. I wish you the best of luck and whatever you do...keep pushing forward. Every day without the stinkies is another victory!:vapor:

Hi Yosemite and welcome to the forum! Congratulations on quitting - you must be feeling some of the benefits by now?

With regard to the burnt plastic taste - that is usually a pretty good indication that the carto is dead. Manufacturer's claims about one cartridge being equal to a whole pack of analogues are, I'm afraid to say, often exaggerated. I went on a trip overseas recently and took my Greensmoke kit with me. I was shocked to find that I was getting through 2-3 pre-filled cartomizers a day. I was vaping exactly the same way I used to smoke - that is to say 10-12 puffs every hour or so.

You might want to look into getting your own cartomizers and e-liquid. I think the Eonsmoke batteries have a KR808D threading, but I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm mistaken!

Econsmoke "looks" like any of the Bloog/Smoklessimage/Etc. 808 auto style battery and cartomizer systems.

That said, a Cartridge/cartomizer is good for a solid 30-50 hits.
It should them be re filled or tossed. Sorry.

If you enjoy the convenience of the cartomizer/cartridge system, stop over to bloog/SI and get some eliquid to refill your carts. They have some very popular flavours and I would suggest the RY4 as a great place to start.

Welcome and have fun

Go with how you feel.

Appreciate the warm welcome! :) So far haven't noticed huge changes, indeed psicologically I don't feel I really quit anything. First attempt with e-cigs was aborted because they caused me lot of issues dry throat and bad cough... then lurked the forum and took the advice to drink a lot and all is fine now... will keep you posted on developments...

That explains a lot. However, still have some mentally reserves about the safety of these products, and the burnt smell made me quite scared.

This will be the next step. I still getting familiar with terms and parts and I am sure I can get all I need in this forum to take it to the next step!

My first Njoy I thought I would not need to get another for a couple of days. Hours later I was back getting another one. :D

I started out on these three years ago or thereabouts. I quickly became dissatisfied with the flavor and the performance. After a couple weeks into the trash it all went. Like you, I was buying packs of these cartos. Best advice I can give is to get a eGo Twist and maybe an Evod. The money saved over the Njoy will be worth it not even considering the much superior performance and battery life.

I used to do Mistics from Wal-mart. When I first started, I went through at least a cart and a half per day. After a few weeks, my intake waned down, however. I could make a cartridge (comparable to the battery life/juice capacity of a blu disposable) last 3 days.

So, in conclusion, once I started, my nicotine intake (probably) spiked. Within a month or two, however, I probably had less nicotine in my system than when I smoked half a pack per day.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine.

One thing if you do find yourself dissatisfied with the vape KEEP THE BATTERIES. There are other juice delivery devices you can screw onto your existing batteries. I have an old 808 battery from a gas station kit that I just put clearomizers (CE3 frome smokeless image) on and use when running errands. Very convenient and why throw away a still working battery. Use em till they die even after you get a better setup to use at home.

A cartomizer that states 18 mg nicotine does not necessarily GIVE you 18 mg. That is just what it holds. (Supposedly).

Your body absorbs nicotine in vapor form much less efficiently than nicotine in smoke form. So you are NOT receiving 18 mg nicotine by vaping 1 cartomizer. Relax.

It's my understanding that, because we're vaporizing and not burning the nic, it's molecule is bigger. (And no carbon, which is a known carcinogen.) The size of that molecule alters how it's absorbed in our lungs and mouth, so it's not uncommon to vape more than smoke, to get the same effect.

Since there are a LOT of additives in a cig, and since it's all burned / carbonized, it's all bad. Ejuice has the nic, some ratio of PG and VG (probably, although it can be had 100% either) and some food grade flavoring, it's got to be a lot less hazardous.

Now, I'm not saying vaping is safe or healthy. But it certainly seems to be less UNsafe and UNhealthy than cigs!

The bad taste may have been due to the cartridge running dry of juice and the fiber fill was burnt. If so, time for a new cart.

Another 808 option is the vision nano (available at Smokeless Image for $2.99 each (I am pretty sure) unfortunately their site is down while they move to a bigger warehouse) you can see your "juice" (fluid) level and they are very easy to refill - IMHO I would recommend the twist or spinner with clearomizor ( I use vision brand VIVI nova's myself) but this is very good set up also

EGO-C Twist 1000MAh and clearomizer Kit - $78.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

super fast and free shipping (wish I would have started with this package - I would have saved a LOT of money)

good luck on quitting the cigs and hope this helps

Yes, I also thought that the prefilled cartos would last much longer than they actually did! When it was gone within almost one sitting I was so upset! I did keep my battery though, and I occasionally will use a Blu carto on the battery if I am in a pinch. I also keep disposable ecigs on hand, in case I want to pull out something quickly. I like the White Cloud Flings and find that they last a lot longer than other disposables and prefilled cartos! Disposable Electronic Cigarettes | White Cloud Electronic Cigarettes Of course YMMV. Welcome to ECF!

Congrats Yosemite on your first week!! In a month you're going to be feeling much better :)
Those little carts you are using generally equal to about 6 - 8 cigs (depending on how well it was made & how deeply you are drawing).
18mg is the strength of nicotine you are getting, not how much you are absorbing. Basically it is a 'full' strenght cig 6mg =ultra lights,
    12mg = lights, 18mg =full and so on....
That burnt taste just means you vaped the carto dry and you need to get rid of it - later you can learn how to refill those things.
You just exchanged about 5000 chemicals for about 4 ... how bad can it be? :) Vape on! :vapor:

First of all, congrats on quitting, that was my biggest first step as well. There were three things that I didn't like about the blucigs/njoys, whatever when I first did. You had no idea how much juice, nor how much battery life remained, and not really a good understanding of what nicotine level will satisfy. You had to wait for that terrible burning taste to know for sure. Well, I didn't care for that, and it almost turned me off vaping completely. That's when I joined ecf looking for answers, and without spending a lot of money, I found easy solutions for these problems.

    1) You need a battery that will last you all day. If you're a light vapor, a 650 mah will suffice, if not you'll need something better. The eGo spinner at 1.3 ah will almost certainly be enough.

    2) It's so much easier to see your juice than to drop it into filler, so I'd suggest a tank system like a vivi nova, kanger t2, evod, etc.

    3) I went with the 3.6% nic juice from Mt Baker, and although it was a bit much sometimes, it did the trick. When I felt that it was too much, I simply vaped less often.

Two batteries. One to use while the other is charging. :)

Depending on how much of what cig you're used to, might be 24 would be sufficient. (Different outfits list different values. The aforementioned 3.6% might show up somewhere else as 36mg. Same amount of nic.)

I started with 18, didn't work, went to 24 and it did the trick for me.

You're you, and need to find the combination that works for you. What info you get here is so you can make a more educated guess :toast:
