How long will a fully charged 510 battery last un-used?

So I ordered a Tornado and am looking into a few other PVs at the moment. I would like to keep my 510 as a backup in case my other batteries die on me. I don't foresee needing the 510 very often.

So if I charge a 510 battery and stick it in my glove box, how long is it going to hold a full charge?

I know what you mean. I only have two 510 batteries right now and they are in constant rotation. That is why I had to ask. I can't hold out long enough to test it myself. haha

Anyway, umm, it's hard to say about the life of the battery when not used.

I had one sitting off the charger for a week. It was fully charged cause I pulled it off when the light was green. Put it back on the charger a week later and the light was red for only about 30 mins.

How long do they normally take to charge? I have never paid attention to exactly when the light turns green.

Mine usually take about an hour to charge, I think? Haven't really timed it.

Found a thread that said the discharge rate was slow when sitting unused. I would advise against storage in the glove box in hot summer months though high temps are rough on batteries.

IMO a fully charged 510 battery will stay charged for a long time. I have some that were fully charged and will still be charged after a month. One way to prevent from having to repeatedly charge a 510 is to get several 510 and use a multicharger. 5 can be charging and you can still have 5 you are using.

I left mine fully charged and laying around for a good 2 months or so, and when I picked it up to use, it was still probably 80% charged. I was surprised and pleased by that.

You could also get a car charger for those batteries. Plug into the cigarette lighter you no longer use, just a thought.
