A lot of forums prominently provide membership stats on or near their home pages, but if ECF does, I'm overlooking it. I'm curious to know how many members we currently have, but I'm equally curious to see snapshots (like month-to-month or quarter-to-quarter) of how membership has grown. Any way?

Interesting topic. Anyone have any idea how many vapers there are (whether or not they participate in this or any other forum)? And I would be very interested to know the growth pattern of that statistic.

Many people do not post but do visit daily which would skew the numbers. Also, there are people who visit the website but never register.
There are lots of things we don't know because we never asked the Black Box That Runs ECF...
But some things it did tell us:
- There are over 100,000 posts a month
- A couple of months back ECF was the second-fastest growing large forum in the world
- There are about 1.5 million posts on the forum
- There are over 150,000 pages
- There are over 3 million URLs on the sitemap, which has to be split into many parts as it's so big
- There are about 40,000 Members
- There are hundreds of Suppliers registered on ECF
- ECF is so big you can get lost, we have to send a search party in to find you if you don't come out after 2 days

I do not think that is entirely correct. When i joined in March '09 there were only about 4000 members. The ratio seems to be pretty consistent at a 5 or 6:1 ratio of members:active. I believe it take one post in 30 days to be considered "active". Of couse there are thousand more members who just visit to read and learn and who do not post. Plus the visitors who read and do not register at all.
I think there were about 32,000 members when I joined in early November. That has increased to about 5,000 more members in only 8 months. If there were only 4,000 members last March, I think it would be safe to say that this forum is growing very fast.
I'm pretty sure that you're wrong Jerry. I remember a post about when ECF would hit the 30,000 mark in January and it was past in February or maybe March. I'm sure it's your advanced age that is making you misremember.

The numbers certainly have seemed to grow.
When we joined in July 2009 it seemed there were maybe 2-3 new member posts a day, or those identifying themselves as "noobs". Lately it seems there are 6,8,10 or more every day. Very encouraging for the growth of our beloved ecigs.
