You'll come to realize the puff counter is pretty pointless, It's really just a toy.

How many puffs did you take off cigarettes in a day? Didn't matter enough to keep track right?

You can keep track of how many ml you vape in a day and it would be a bit more relevant
Really, as long as you're satisfied and not feeling dizzy/sick you're good.

It's been awhile since I used my evics, but I just checked my mvr records - when it was my primary device I averaged 300 - 450 puffs a day, with a one time peak of 656 puffs in one day.
From what I have seen and experienced it is normal to vape your head off when getting started, as long as you are not getting nic sick, don't worry about how often you are vaping.

I switched to a lower Nic so I could vape more, On my iTaste MVP I see 600 puffs a day and I am alternating between that and my Vamo. So it all depends on the strength of your Juice and what kind of nicotine you require to keep your cravings under control, that being said I bought some 0 Nic to mix with my juice to lower it further I just love the taste

I've always been curious about these puff counter thingies. Do they actually count how many times you drag on the tip, or does it only count how many times you've mashed the button? If it's the former, that's cool. If it's the latter, it's basically useless if you puff two or more times on each button press (I usually do).

Good point. I have an eVic, and don't use the bells and whistles that came with it. I too, never "counted" how many puffs I took when I smoked cigarettes.

With e-gigs, I take a few puffs, and put it back in my pocket. A while later, I repeat the process. I keep satisfied enough to NEVER want to go back to the cancer causing analogs, NEVER!

Let it be noted that many noobs use their e-cigs more often (maybe too often), to find out what satisfies them. If you begin to feel dizzy, or get a head ache, slow down! You'll get the hang of it. Vaping is a bit different than cigarette smoking, and everyone goes through a learning curve.

With the eVic you can set it to "auto" so you only have to press the button once for a metered puff of as many seconds (to the tenth) as you want. Since it counts up time for every puff anyway, you can get a pretty good idea of what your average drag is and set the auto accordingly, and I suppose you could even determine how many hundredths (or whatever) of a ml each puff would be. I haven't tried to calculate that. Combining this with a record of how much liquid you go through in a day could probably help you to determine pretty precisely how much you use. I doubt too many people use this feature and I agree with DoogieTony, it really is more of a "toy" or useless feature unless you really dig record keeping and stats. Personally, I haven't found it to be very useful, but it is there if I want to play with it. Once you start trying to get that precise, it feels a little too pharmaceutical.

That being said, the eVic computer software is still pretty lacking and doesn't work right. The firmware on the device is pretty cool though. Sometimes it is fun to look at the puff counter to see just how many you go through in a day though (IBCR Media: it counts how many times you push the button, not how many times you take a drag while it is pushed. That could be where the auto feature is useful to some though). I have found that a heavy day for me is in the neighborhood of 300 puffs. Average is more like 200. Like Wbart said, it all kind of depends on your nic level too. If I was still at 24mg, I imagine my puff count would drop quite a bit. I stay at 18 which works nicely for me and the frequency at which I use my device. On days where I find myself chain vaping, I will sometimes even change to an atty with some 0 nic samples I have received and go nic free for a period of an hour or more at a stretch. I have noticed no ill effects from this and if I feel like I need the nic, I'll switch atties back to one with 18mg.

I have never counted puffs, I run 3-5 ml per day, more on really dull or stressful days. I don't think puffs is a good way to count how much you vape. I mean is 10 puffs on 18mg the same as 15 on 12 or 20 on 6? who knows, and is your puff the same as mine, 2 second, 3 second, 1 cu. ft of vapor, 1.5, 0.6?
