This is true. If you have a few mods and you are using all at the same time it is harder to keep count, however like TARTARA said it is also dependant on the set up. You could be on a lower nic content and on lower wattage or a higher nic content with high wattage and beastly coils and chucking out massive clouds. So it all depends on how you are using it. Maybe high puff counter for the latter would be too much for some. At least the only poison is the nicotine. Not like all the poisons in cigarettes.
