Hello all! Just got my first mod in today, upgrading from the 808 cigarette style. Went with an Apollo Vtube and added on their Dual Coil tank Cartomizer. Dual Coil Tank Cartomizer Says it's 3 ohm and was just curious what sort of voltage I should be running that on? I found a graph for Ohm/Volt safe ratios but was curious what a good area to run it was. Opinions or thoughts would be appreciated. I've tried from 3.8 to 5 and may try more but just wasn't sure where it should be. Also, maybe a silly question, but if you run it at higher volts, does it actually burn more juice? Thanks in advance.

You try. If your atomizer is 3 ohm, count using Ohm's Law. 3 ohm on 5V is about 8 watts. For me it is enough. Even more than enough. If you want more power, try about 10 watts, I would not recommend more.
Of course more power - more juice and more heater burning, it should live shorter.
P.S. with this power atomizers sometimes cannot survive, just burn. And watch out batteries: they should be high quality, designed for high drain.

I'm not using a tank, but I drive my Boge 3 ohm cartos at 4.2v on my Provari V2 for a good vape. A 2 ohm carto gets about 3.7v for a similar experience. I've heard people talk about 5v on a 3 ohm carto, but I find that too warm and dry.

Depending on the electronics, a setting on a VV ecig may be accurate or not. The batteries you use may also vary in their ability to deliver voltage at a given resistance. Yesterday, I set my voltage at 4v and installed my little digital voltmeter inline tester on the Provari with a 3 ohm carto on the end of that. I got 3.99v on the display. A tenth of a volt is good regulation. That's within the limits of variance for most electronic regulators.

I agree that 7 to 8 watts is the sweet spot for me. It will vary slightly with different juices and the way they atomize, but it's a good starting point for exploration.

Thanks for the input. Sounds about right where I've been running it. Have been keeping it around 5v as it seemed to just feel right, hit pretty hard and such. It goes through some juice though, didn't think I'd suck so much down lol. I've been changing between 4.6-5v every so often and I think anywhere between there should be my sweet spot as well. Just wasn't sure what I should be running or what the carto could handle. But now I do, thanks Dave and Slim
