Does anyone know approximately how many people use e-cigs? I am not looking for a guess, just a true estimate.

And I'm also looking for the number of e-cig kits already sold (?)

And since the tax increase took place either at the end of April or at the beginning of May, I would think that there have been a substantial increase in ecig purchases since that time.

Perhaps even doubled. I 'sold' (directed) 8 people in the past few days.

It has to be more then 100,000. I sold 1,000 in a week and a half and I am sure not the biggest kid on the block.

54,000,000 American Smokers, so even if there were 500,000 ecigs sold that would be <1% of the potential market. And how many of those sold are even working, working well and in use? I would love to see some data.

I believe the Electronic Cigarette Association has estimated sales at $100 million/year. That would work out to around 1,000,000 units sold. The dollar figure from ECA, of course, does not count all the private purchases by users.

Take a look at the court-papers filed by SE. I think (don't have them at hand so not sure, so look it up to be sure) that they said they had sold appr. 600.000 units in the last year.
