I know this is a highly subjective question, but I am wondering how much, on average, experienced vapers are vaping. I'm filling like three cartos (or 4 sometimes) a day. I am using a mixture which is 1/4 part 16 mg cherry (chinese generic), 1/4 part 18 mg volt cowboy, and 1/2 part 24 mg Johnson City Vanilla. I'm guess this would work out to somewhere 21.5 mg/ml. I've been off the analogs for 9 days now, and I don't crave them any more, but I do crave the vape! Also, this mixture tastes FANTASTIC to me, so that's part of the problem. I'm a little worried that if I don't curtail my usage a little, I'll be vaping 5 mils of 36mg a day soon.....

ps...I was smoking marb lights, roughly 30 a day for 15 or so years. With the estimates I've seen, that's about 15 mg of nic a day. If my cartos hold 1 ml, I'm currently getting roughly 60 to 80 mg of nic a day, I guess depending on absorption rates, and factoring in that I am not getting the chemicals in cigs which help with absorption, who knows, really....

You're new to vaping, correct?

Just vape. Vape you're little heart out. If you vape too much you'll know it. You didn't smoke yourself into a nicotine coma smoking. And you didn't watch and try to figure out how much nicotine you were getting while you smoked did you?

Get off the cigs, adjust to vaping. Down the road if you want to lower your nicotine level, do that. Most of us have that 'is it too good to be true' feeling. Yes, vaping is that good. Enjoy!

BTW, I think every person here probably wondered the same thing. Once you adjust and have been vaping for awhile you'll probably vape a little less. Or start to vape a lower nic level. In the beginning, unless you feel sick or something, I wouldn't worry too much about it. My mom started at 36 mg (she smoked for almost 60 years) and currently vapes 6 mg. nic. That was within a 6 month period. I think it's so great that you aren't smoking and enjoy vaping so much!

Just Vape and quit worrying about the math You will know if you vape too much. If you start getting dizzy spells I would think that would be a great indicator. Sometimes I vape around 5mls a day some days when I am really stressed I probably go through a little more than that and I am perfectly fine. I would a whole lot rather be vaping than taking a drag off of a nasty analog

5ml is about 1 teaspoon and may contain as much nicotine as 5 cigarettes--the difference is that about 90% of the nicotine in cigarette tobacco is destroyed by combustion (generally listed as "tar") or lost to sidestream smoke.

Most smokers only absorb about 1mg of nicotine per cigarette smoked, but that nicotine is delivered more rapidly into the bloodstream as it is converted into a freebase form that can be absorbed through deep lung tissue. The pharmaceutical grade nicotine used in e-cigs is absorbed more slowly through the mouth and upper respiratory system, so new vapers may be absorbing more "milligrams" of nicotine than they were getting from cigarettes, but once you adjust most people will naturally reduce the amount of nicotine they use...and of course some people intentionally step down to 0-nic when they are reasonably certain they won't resume smoking.

I have been vaping for a little over 2 months now and I seem to have steadied out around 3 or so carts/day, I was kinda wondering the same thing if I was going to continue to increase my intake. I have also thought about lowering the nic content in my liquids but I'm not sure how/if that will affect their flavor that I have come to enjoy

You are vaping on the heavy side, yes.. but like swedishfish said, primary goal is to get completely off the analogues, give it a couple of weeks (more) and then you can slowly adjust your vape to the nicotine contents and quantity you feel would be better for you! Or Not, nothing wrong with your "intake". Till then, just keep on vapin'

PS. That's a nice catch :)

LOL i know that feeling! It's like having traded one addiction for 2 others; vaping addiction and mod collecting addiction!

Truer words have never been posted, and this was your sixth post! For people who don't understand why we spend the time on ECf and money on new toys and juices, we can just call it a "hobby".

I agree with pretty much everyone, so far. If you consume too much nicotine, you will get sick and throw up. It is an intensely unpleasant experience. Occasionally, I vape too much in a short period of time and get a little nauseous. This is my body's way of telling me to put the brakes on.

I don't think any medical professional would tell you that consuming any amount of nicotine is healthy. However, it pays to remember that you were smoking cigarettes nine days ago. Those things are heinous! Sometimes I can't believe I smoked them for 10 years, especially when I am around smoke these days. Like Swedishfish said, vape away! Every day you are not smoking, you are doing your body a huge favor.

As people have written: at worst, we have traded one addiction for another. Even if that is the case, we are much better off than we were.

Congrats on your 9 day streak. Keep it up!
