How much liquid do you lose?

The other day someone asked how much liquid people vaped. I think another pertinent question is - how much liquid do you lose through leakage? I am discounting @dannyv45 here - whose signature reads:"OH MY, I just unscrewed the wrong end of my clearo and it spilled all over me." :) - though that too happens often enough. :D

I'm more concerned with how much liquid we lose through atties, even drippers, in normal operation. I think the only tanks I own that do not leak at all are the nautilus, the Aspire K1s and the Kanger Mini Protanks. My Subtank Mini is like a sieve and I have basically retired it. The Kanger Aerotank is also temperamental and also tends to leak through the air flow holes when the mood grabs it. The Kayfun 4 is not bad, which also applies to the Lemo 2, though they are both not absolutely watertight . Even some drippers tend to leak, although the avoidance of just that is what made me get them.

What's your experience?

Well lets see you tanks that NEVER leak. Have probably the MOST how to fix the leak threads on them.. Your Mileage May Vary strikes again.

I LOOSE maybe 1 or 2 drops a day via condensation and drip down the air intake, in My Kayfun. Not a daily thing but other causes of leakage going from HOT to cold and back sometimes, few drops when going to high altitudes (if I forget to flip the tank upside down).

I hate leaks. If I notice one, and can't fix it, I will retire the atty. I only use Reos and attys that have been modified for bottom feed. I don't have leaks. There are several newer attys around now that are 'top airflow', such as the Vector, REMatty, Manta, Rogue, that are virtually leak proof.

I use a Kayfun and RDA exclusively. The only time my Kayfun leaked was when it had a worn out inner o-ring; I replaced it and now its fine. My RDA may leak if I over-drip, but that's my user error.

Prior to rebuilding, I used cartotanks exclusively for two years. I used quality tanks like IBTanked, and they NEVER leaked. Using low quality cartotanks and it was hit or miss.

That is basically what I meant - apart from the Subtank which must have been born under a blighted star - what i was referring to was these little drips through air holes etc, although I do sometimes find liquid running down the side of the battery... but that is rare. But these tiny leaks are annoying. I'm starting to feel like Lady Macbeth with constantly needing to wash my hands. :)

I primarily use Lemos. I got the ocassional 5 drop leak, but I have increased my wick and I make sure that I do not blow INTO the drip tip in my process of taking a vape. It cut down 90%.

Away from my vape station, I have alcohol prep pads in the car. I drive at different altitudes so I watch for it and it may be a factor. But, I don't have an issue.

Just something I learned.

None. Zero. Not a drop - not ever. I use a REO Grand with a bottom fed rebuildable atty.

On occasion, I will discard a half ml. This happens when I think it's time to clean the device. The tube holds about a quarter ml and I'm too lazy to rescue the quarter ml that might be left in the bottom of the bottle. So, when I rinse out the bottle and also submerge the REO in water to clean it every two or three weeks, I deliberately discard about a half ml.

Thats my point, ALL atty's have the potential to leakage........ After-all they are all OPEN containers with fluid in them. The trick is to Identify WHEN your atty is prone to leakage and how to minimize the leakage.

I KNOW the air hole on my Kayfun is UNDER the coil. Gravity alone is going to direct SOME juice DOWN that hole. The tank hold the juice in via vacuum pressure, therefore it is affected by atmospheric/barometric pressures. Yep, a good Thunder Storm has the potential to cause your tank to leak. For me it's Altitude that gets me, I live at 300 feet and Recreate in the mountains at 5000 feet or more.

About 2ml a week in kayfun
when i had my aris clone none as it was virtually impossible to leak unless you overfilled the juicewell.
Maybee a drop or 2 in my patriot due to me just getting it and im used to my aris clone(rip)
kayfjn usually only leaks when it gets really warm out though and the vacumm kind of just loses itself.

Exactly. I can't say I've never had seepage from the side air inlets, due to over squonking. But that's just user error. But with the newer top air attys I mentioned earlier, even over squonking is impossible. You would literally have to turn the mod and atty upside down and squonk, to get any juice to come out.
