I have been trying to figure this out and must have brain fog ! I vape 30 ml juice a week at 6 mg Nic level. So how much base at 100 mg Nic base to make juice for a year. Well for a month would work then multiply by 12.

I am thinking if using 100 mg, that means about 1/2 ml of Nic base in a 30 ml bottle for Nic amount. Then add PG VG, flavors. Does that sound right?

If you Vape 6mg/ml e-Liquid, and if you use 30ml a week, then you Consume 6 x 30 => 180mg's of Nicotine a week.

For a Year, you would consume 180 x 52 => 9360mg's of Nicotine per Year.

The Nicotine Base you mentioned has 100mg per ml. So if you Divide 9360 by 100 you get 93.6. So you would need about 100ml of 100mg/ml Nicotine Base to make enough 6mg/ml e-Liquid to last about a Year.

With 100mg base, you need 1.35ml of nic base to make 30 ml of juice @ 6mg .So you can make 740, 30 ml bottles with 1 litre of 100mg base :)

How did you come up with 1.35ml of 100mg/ml to make 30ml of 6mg/ml e-Liquid?

Seems like 1.35ml's of 100mg would have 135 Total Milligrams of Nicotine. Whereas a 30ml Bottle of 6mg/ml would have 180 Total Milligrams of Nicotine.

Thank you! Very helpful, so now I can figure out my stash and see how many years I am prepared for :) for some reason I was making it complicated to figure out!

I think what makes this Confusing sometimes is the way we write "___mg instead of "___mg/ml."

And people kinda Forget that the way we talk about Nicotine is "per Milliliter".

BTW - If you are going to Buy a 1 Liter Bottle of Nicotine Base and plan to put some or all of it in your Freezer, I would Split the 1 Liter into Smaller Glass Bottles (with Poly Caps) like 200ml or 250ml.

That way when you Need more Nicotine Base, you just Pull out a Small Bottle from the Freezer and let it Thaw in the Frig for a day or so. Instead of having to Keep Opening/Closing a 1L Bottle.

Smaller Bottles also might Fit Better into a Freezer chucked full of Fish Sticks and Frozen Lasagna.

So 1/2 ml of 100 mg Nic base in 30 ml bottle woul basically give around 3 or so mg of Nic base per 30 ml bottle ?

1/2 ml of 100mg/ml would have 50 Total Milligrams of Nicotine.

30ml of 3mg/ml would have 90 Total Milligrams of Nicotine.

So something Doesn't Jive.

If I put 50 Milligrams into a 30ml Bottle, to know what my Milligrams per Milliliter is, I divide the Total mg's by the Total ml's.

50 Divided by 30 = 1.6667

So if I added 1/2 ml of 100mg/ml Nicotine Base to 29.5ml of PG, VG or PG and VG, I would have 30ml of 1.667mg/ml e-Liquid.

You are Little more that Half Way to your Goal of 3mg/ml, so if you want to make 3mg/ml, it sounds like you are going to need a Tad Less than 1ml of 100mg/ml

And that kinda Makes sense. Because 1/3 of 100 is 33.3333. And 1ml to 30ml is 1/30th. And 1/30 of 100 is 3.3333.

I just answered this question for another member on how to calculate what you will need here Vapocalypse & Those Who've Never DIY'd

To calculate how much nicotine you will need this is how you do it.

take the # of mls you vape each day and multiply by the strength ( mgs) of liquid that you use. Once you have that total, multiply by 365. Now you know how many mgs of nicotine you need for each year.

Next, figure out what strength of nicotine that you want to buy. Most people buy it by the liter ( 1000 mls) multiply the strength that you are buying by 1000 ( mls) that will give you the mgs in each liter of nicotine.

Last, use the total number of nicotine in each liter and divide it by the number of mgs that you use each year. That will tell you how long 1 liter will last you.

Hope it helps.

You'd need 1.8mL of 100mg/mL Nic to make EACH 30mL bottle of eliquid at 6mg Nic.

So 52 bottles a year x 1.8mL of 100mg/mL Nic used for each 30mL bottle of finished eliquid = 93.6mL of 100mg/mL Nic

I use 100mg/mL Nic myself, in making my own finished eliquid at 6mg. Recently figured the same thing to find out how much I'll need to make my own per year!

    Are my calculations correct?

    I want to vape 10mg....10ml per day...for 20 years...using 100mg/ml

    10mg x 10ml= 100mg per day
    100mg per day x 365 days= 36500mg per year
    36500mg per year x 20 years= 730000mg
    730000mg / 100mg/ml = 7300ml
    7300ml / 1000ml = 7.3 ltrs

I would need 7.3 liters of 100mg/ml to vape 10mg, 10ml per day for 20 years

30 ml x 6mg nic = 180 mg nic per week. The sensible size to buy for nic concentrate is a 1 liter bottle of 100mg, a 10% solution. That costs $50 where I buy it plus some amber glass for storage. That one liter bottle has the same amount of nic as the smoke from 5,000 packs of cigarettes. You are vaping the equivilent of 25 cigs a day worth of nic, one mg per cig. If your vaping stays exactly as it is 1 liter of 100 mg nic should last you 10.6 years in the freezer .
