I know... Search and I'll find it. Problem is, I'm getting a bunch of different answers.

I'm buying 6mg juice right now. Good throat hit, nice flavor... But I think (maybe) towards end of day I'm feeling a little on edge, like maybe it's a tad too much.

I've tried 3mg juice, but other than one flavor (waffles) I don't get the same throat hit. Juices I buy are 50/50 and I like the mix for amount of flavor but no real dry mouth.

I used to smoke 2 PAD of Carlton 100s. In theory, that means I was getting like 4mg of nicotine per day.

If I'm vaping 4ml of juice per day, even if I'm only absorbing 50%, that's like 12mg per day.

Is it really 50%? Should I try to drop my juice to 3mg?

Advice and opinions please!

:D

I end up doing 6mg for half the day, and 3 the other half. Or sometimes I'll mix two juices to get that halfway effect. I don't think anyone can give you a definitive answer on how much nic is absorbed, I am under the impression that there's a bunch of factors involved such as how long you pull, how long you hold the vapor in your mouth, etc. But if you feel on edge, definitely drop down a bit would be my thoughts.

You should ignore the numbers and the theory and vape what feels best to you. You can sort of "guesstimate" what nicotine intake you had while smoking analogs but Big Tobacco's absorption/intake rates are screwy because different people pull harder or softer on the filters. The numbers can change drastically also if you change equipment, say from a tank to an RDA. Personally, I find that I usually want something stronger at the end of the day or find myself vaping more to sate my cravings.

In short, ignore the numbers and let your body tell you when your nicotine addiction is satisfied.

Thanks for the replies.

I've settled in on some favorite flavors, so I went to my local B&Ms today and got 3mg versions where I could... where I couldn't, I got both 6mg and 0mg and mixed them down to 3mg. I'll stick with that for the next couple of days and see how it goes. I vaped mostly 6mg today, and again around dinner time was feeling a bit on edge, so I'm pretty sure it's just too much.

BTW, favorite flavors for now are Waffle, Thin Mint, Blueberry Lemon (like pie!), Watermelon, Cotton Candy and Happy Ending. I'm so lucky to have some great vape shops locally :D

Not quite. It's difficult to equate the nic levels of your smokes to e-liquid. Vaping is not as an efficient nicotine delivery systems as cigarettes are because your tissue absorbs vapor differently. You might be only getting 1/4th to 1/3rd what you're used to.

I share Vermiform's sentiments. It sounds like you need more.

This is exactly what I started off asking. How much is absorbed? No one seems to know for sure. Even if I'm only absorbing 25% that's still slightly higher than what I was getting with analogs (6mg vs. 4mg).

I don't feel "on edge" as in I'm craving cigarettes or I'm grumpy. I feel "on edge" like just a tad hyper or shaky. I don't know how else to describe it, but it's a physical uneasiness like when I've accidentally had too much caffeine (like if Starbucks gives me caffeinated by mistake). It also seems to happen at the same time every day, after mostly a full day of vaping. Pretty sure it's too much nicotine... and if my suspicions are correct, adding more is just going to make it worse.

I have no urge at this point to go back to tobacco cigarettes, so I'm not worried about that. I'd rather stick with the 3mg the next few days and see how it goes. Worst case scenario is that I'm wrong, I start craving analogs, and I'll just need to up the nicotine again.
