Hi caged. I have the Joye 510 and I had been smoking 10-15 cigarettes a day, Marlboro Lights. Of course, out at bars or a real hard/bad day could see me smoking a pack, maybe a few more in 24 hrs. I tried 24mg first, ordered it filled in the carts with the kit. It was too much for me. Three 4-second light drags on the 510 and I'd have a head rush and the throat hit, at least from that juice, was quite harsh. It was much stronger than my cigarette and made me feel like I might cough. This was also totally unexpected for me. I didn't think vaping would feel so much like smoking. Anyway, I ordered some 12mg and 18mg juice from VaporBomb (same flavor) in a 80/20 PG/VG mix and the throat hit is much lighter, but still there. It was closer to what the hit of my Marlboro Lights felt like with 18mg. With 12mg I am able to take several drags (6 or so) before feeling satisfied but not light headed. With 18mg it was one or two less and the throat hit was a bit more pronounced. If I kept drawing on the pv after I was satisfied I would get light headed.

I've only been at this a week, but that has been my experience. I'm still a bit torn between 12mg and 18mg. I think if I could get a flavor with a bit stronger throat hit at 12mg I'd be good. As is, I am leaning a bit toward the 18mg and vaping a little less often.

I'd say try to get a flavor you like in sample sizes at 8/12/18 and see which works best for you, your device, and how often/long you'd like to vape at a time.

I would suggest starting at 24mg just to make sure your cravings are kept under control, and work your way down to a comfortable nic level from there.

Excellent point. Especially if you are looking to kick tobacco cigarettes to the curb right away.

No caged. I haven't done anything like that, yet. I am using the standard atomizer and batteries that came with the Joye 510 kit.

Nicotine in Ultralights varies. The lowest ones I smoked only had .5mg per cigarette so if I had still been smoking them I think maybe 12mg eliquid might have worked for me. Some Ultralights have more. I couldn't afford the Ultralights the last year I smoked so instead I was smoking Pall Mall Orange which had .9mg per cigarette.

I think in general, people who smoke Lights and Ultralights often start around 16-18mg and if that's too much then 12mg and if it's not enough at the beginning then maybe some 24mg. Kick that all up one step for people who smoked full strength cigarettes (i.e. centered around 24mg)

I smoked 1.5-2 PAD of ultralights and lights and I'm fine on 18mg vaping about as much as I smoked. I don;t think the PAD matters that much if you are going to vape about as many drags per day as you smoked. I have started to sometimes vape more than I smoked so i am getting some 12mg for times when I'm vaping a lot (because I don't want to increase my nicotine dependence)

This is exactly what I did and glad I did it that way. There are so many new things to adjust to in that first week, no way did I want to deal with nicotine cravings too LOL

I smoked 1 to 1.5 packs of ultra-light before I started vaping mid-August. I started at 18mg and dropped my smoking down to 1/2 pack or less a day. Sept 6 was my first full day of no smoking and only vaping. I stayed at 18mg until sometime early October when I dropped down to 12mg. Early November, I dropped down to 6mg. I'm now getting ready to drop down to 3mg mostly in January I think. I'm hoping to eventually get down to 0mg but I'm not sure if I will stop vaping then or keep it up - only time will tell as I smoked for over 40 years.
