Hello Everyone! I am an ECF newbie.

Well, I can't really say I am new to the whole world of vaping as I was introduced to e-cigs early 2010. I was not impressed at all. I had bought a smoker friendly version..didn't know others exsisted at the time. Flavor was horrid, period. Was fairly difficult to puff on and though I toughed it out...I didn't stick with it. I lost it and didn't feel like paying good money for junk again. So after a few months, and really wanting to quit smoking I started googling. Found one I decided to try and fell in love!

Then I had two very awesome guys and a whole forum of peeps introduce me to e-juice and tempting me with all kinds of vaping toys...I'm definitely hooked!

One of those awesome guys also introduced me elixirtv, and being a curious newbie I had to go check it out! I am soooo glad I did cause I won an EGO  -- a new vaping toy! I know everyone has probably already used these but I have no idea really what is coming in the mail or how to use it, what I can use with it, or where to buy good quality stuff for the disposable parts. Any help would be appreciated. It was pretty cool getting to say that I was actually a part of the vapefest...even if it was states away!

This forum is a bit big and sorta overwhelming for this peep ...but Hi everyone!

You do need eliquids, so start reading up on those.

Hello Angels(where's Charlie)...so you have yourself an eGo coming...cooool...hard to recommend much without knowing which eGo kit you have coming BUT, goto Crystal Clear Vaping and pick up one of their 15 carto bundles(2 drip tips and a syringe included w/free shipping)...the Boges shown are industry standards...I would get them in the LR(low resistance) version...the Resurrectors rock as well(what I use)...CCV sells some juice and if bought there, you get the free shipping as well BUT, there are a zillion juice vendors our there with a zillion(and a half) flavors...look in the Forum Suppliers list and start your research to see what kinda juices might be what you want...usually the best thing is to buy smaller sampler sizes from diff vendors to see what you might like...a nic level at 18mg/ml(med/high) is a good level to start with...good luck and Happy Vaping..........

Liberty-Flights.com (first press the 20% off upper left front page) and LiteCigUSA.net are where I go for real Joye 510 and Ego stuff.

Drip tip - if your Ego has a wide atty atyle (more than 9.2mm diameter) then it uses an Ego drip tip. If 9.2mm it uses a 510 drip tip. Drip tip is great for testing juices on the atomizer or vaping occasional juices.

Cartomizers - learn to use the 3 ohm Boge 510 cartomizers then if you want you can go to the hotter 2 ohm ones. Boge are the most popular cartomizers for 510. make the carto take 18 drops, wait 15 sec, slowly add a few more until one doesn't soak in easily. I hold a tissue on the threaded end hold while I do that and tilt the carto to drip down the inner wall. Then clean it up. Then lay it on different sides fro 15-20 minutes since this is the first fill. That will get every bit of stuffing damp. Then vape. Periodically add juice to keep it damp (this is the learning part because if you let it get too dry it will singe and have a bitter taste). I can get 10+ days use out of a Boge with thin clear juices (I use PG w/ 20% or less VG and I avoid juices that drop a lot of flavoring sediment). Cartomizers hold more than an atomizer cartridge, you get a fresh atty built into each, they keep your fave flavors totally separate, won't suddenly dump 1/2 their juice, and in geenral provide a more consistent vaping experience.

There are a lot more exotic stuffing cartos and also reservoir cartos that you fill with a syringe and bit handmade tank cartos but Boge are the simplest and most used.

Hello, and welcome! I also consider myself somewhat a newbie, although I've been on here for a few months now. The amazing wealth of information is rather daunting at first, but in no time you'll be spouting off about ohms, mAhs, and PG/VG ratios to anyone who will listen. I was using an eGo until just recently, and I have to second madjack's recommendations. I didn't try anything else once I found the 15 carto deal on Boges from CCV. He's also right about buying sampler packs of juice. There's just too many juices out there not to. Here's my favorite juice vendors though:

Backwoods Brew - All of these juices are just top-notch quality. I've thoroughly enjoyed even the BWB flavors I wasn't sure about when I ordered.
Vaporcast - Not too many flavors, but all good, from what I've tried. This site got me turned on to menthol flavors, and I hated menthol smokes.
Gourmet Vapor - This site has a lot of user-created flavors, which can be hit or miss. They have a flavor creator though, so you can make customized flavors. They also have 50% off sales sometimes, which are great for stocking up on samples.

Hope that helps, but have fun discovering whatever it is that works best for you, good luck!

I agree, newbies are never boring. All of us were new to ECF and to vaping at one time. It's great to be able to share information that some of us may have learned the hard way. Welcome to the forums.

Congrats on your prize...that's awesome! I'm confident that your new device will totally redeem your experience with the old device you initially tried. I can only echo the advice given above. Buy some juice and some cartomizers. Crystal Clear Vaping, Good Prophets, and Liberty Flights are all great vendors. I would buy some Boge cartomizers (I'm partial to those) and some juice of your choosing.

Get your post count up to 5 so you can PM and post on general forum threads. Don't hesitate to send me a Personal Message if you have any questions.

Welcome! I'd like to second (or third, or fourth) the Boge 3.0 recommendation.

I'm currently using an eGo, and the 3.0 Boge's from Crystal clear vaping. Started with a regular eGo starter kit, bought an ego-T atty/tanks, didn't like them, moved to Boge 3.0's. Tried/trying a few clearomizers/fluxomizers here and there for fun.

I still like the Boge's better than most anything I've tried. Tried dripping when I first got the eGo kit; failed miserably. I must be an anomaly, as I've been vaping my favorite juice (vg/pg blend, a reddish color) out of the same Boge for about 2 weeks or more. Initial fill, and at least 4-6 "top offs" and it's still working (knock on wood).

Good luck :)

Hey Angels - welcome to the forum! The people here are amazing - they will patiently answer all of your questions.

I am a very new vaper - only about 5 days but loving it so far. I can second Liberty Flights and third (or fourth or fifth) the Boge cartos. I have found they are the easiest thing for me to use at this point, and it seems a lot of veterans love them as well. I fill using the 'condom' method and have decent success (experts please let me know if this is dangerous/incorrect), but Dormouse I will try your method.

One suggestion I feel comfortable making and will likely be echoed - buy extra juice, cartos (or carts) and supplies - and soon! I have been going nuts with juices, buying 4-6 sample or trial sizes from several different places, and have had good experiences with all. I don't know what you were smoking, but I would exercise caution with buying too many tobacco flavored juices. I bought a bunch, and find myself reaching for the other flavors more often. Maybe that is just a product of being new to vaping and wanting to sample. I can recommend Tasty Vapor, and in particular Geoff's Blend, which is what I've been going using a lot of the last couple days. Quick service, good sized samples (~10ml?), and Geoff was really helpful. Definitely check out the supplier forums, though.

Welcome!

Thanks to everybody for the warm welcome, I was pretty terrified to even post in this huge forum!

I am assuming a Boge is a carto of some sort for the EGO? (Hoping it comes in the mail by tomarrow...I'm like a kid at Christmas..as usual when I am waiting for vaping stuff)

Presently the flavors I am finding I like the best for all day vapes is Coffee and RY4 I am also pretty partial to Menthol and peppermint as well. I got a RY4 from gourmet Vapors and while it is good I would love to find something a bit stronger in flavor the caramel-ish flavor is pretty light in their RY4..but it is smooth and decent. My bottle is already almost gone!

If anyone has any suggestions on where to find a good, smooth, sweetish RY4 please do tell!

P.S. KK you better keep me posted on that purple tank vape toy....I soooo want one! I know you will, but, have to reiterate how much I really do want to buy one!

I'd be curious on the RY4 - I've heard people talk about it. What kind of a flavor is it?
...it's a solid but mild tobacco flavor with hints of vanilla and caramel...after much experimentation, it had pretty much become my all day vape...along with breaks for Peach Brandy, Key Lime Pie, Irish Creme and Pina Colada, all of which I am presently getting from BlueMistVaping..............

Both the Vanilla Tobacco and Caramel Tobacco are good, for a plain, straight tobacco, their Robacco is pretty good...my Wife and step-daughter like to add their Hypermint to Robacco for their menthol ciggie fix and the Wife also likes to add their Butterscotch to Irish Creme for a Buttery Nipple flavor...they also have a Clove Tobacco which is fairly mild...I like it mixed with Robacco and a touch of apple added to it...and of course, they are home to the nastiest tasting juice in the world...Crab Juice...lolol
