So, I wanted another Astro clone in all SS - I found one on Desire ecig for cheap. I also found a KFL clone for $20 there. So I ordered it cuz I love my Russian 91%. I thought I could drill out the airhole to make it more of a juice guzzling cloud machine.
I didn't think this one out much. lol.

The quality is so-so and I only paid $20 - so I thought I'd just jump right into it without even testing it out in stock configuration.
To make a long story short, the original hole looked like it was drilled straight in, but it was actually was a slight angle.
Being impatient, I broke off a 1/16" drill bit in it, then a 5/64". Then I decided to use a tapered carbide bit in it to get the broken off bits out of it. Since the hole wasn't straight I decided to make it even bigger to make it a nice straight hole.

It still vapes well, but looks a little funny now.
I was even considering drilling out the 510/airtube - but it's already as big as it's gonna get.

Sorry, I messed all the pic sizes up too.
Oh and that's a nano kit on it - didn't come like that.

If you don't drill out the center tube hole, you are just spinning your wheels. You can go one size larger than the hole that is already in it. Just go one size larger. No more. It is handy to have a set of bits that are both numbered and lettered in it's kit to keep from going too big.

The biggie here is to be dayum sure to not drill it unless it is already in the block and tightened well. Don't drill it and "Then try to tighten it. It may very well be too delicate after drilling, and break off in the block.

One of these days I am going to re-tap the block on one and fit a larger dia. tube/screw, for a good bit more air. Just to see what it is like! LOL!!!
