I tend to play it by ear (or tongue actually). The second I notice a burnt taste (even if it's just barely present) it's time for a cleaning. I've noticed the darker juices (e.g. Tiki, Voodoo, chocolate anything) require more frequent cleanings than lighter juices (e.g. Torque56).

When it's time to clean, I pour the juice back it, rinse out my tank and then let is soak overnight in denture tablets. A good, cold-water rinse and a couple hours later, it's dry and ready to be refilled.

I've been vaping with Triton tanks for about 2+ months now and have yet to change out a coil. I've only experienced a burnt taste and reduced vapor once so far and after cleaning it was gone (warm water, dry burn, move the wicks a little if still discolored after washing).

I am using 5 tanks (one for each flavor I like) with one in reserve and usually clean out 2 of them at a time after filling them 4-5 times.

I do pretty much the same thing. Gently moving the wick to get he part that touches the coil clean is very good advice.

I use different color tanks for different flavors: Green=menthol, Blue=fruity, Clear=tobacco, Smoke=chocolate/coffee, Yellow=desert/bakery... I also keep a separate coil for each flavor. If I want to switch from chocolate to coffee I use a different coil head that's reserved for the coffee flavor while I rinse, soak and dry the chocolate coil head. Once it's dry I stash the head into a labeled zipper bag so it's ready the next time it's needed. Having spare coil heads is key.

To clean the tank I just rinse it out in very hot water and let it soak for an hour (if needed) before a final rinse and drying with a clean q-tip. If I use an awful flavor (from another vendor) I always soak the coil head in cheap vodka for an hour or so before soaking it again in hot water. That usually does the trick.

The Halo e-liquid sample containers are ideal to use for Triton tank storage. I put freezer tape around the metal can and label what tank colors/flavors go in the foam holes. The center hole can even hold the battery.

I'm actually cleaning a tank and changing a coil for the first time since I got my Triton in January. I've cleaned the tanks before; I tend to only clean the tank when I'm switching flavors, or if the flavor degrades or tastes burnt (happens with HX3 after about 3 refills). I just finished trying Midnight Apple and I've decided that the coil needs replaced.

On the other hand, my tank with Prime15 doesn't seem to need cleaned frequently, and my tank with Kringle's Curse has only been cleaned once.

I might start cleaning my tanks every 3 weeks or something regularly though, but until then I just go by taste.

I got my trident kit about 10 days ago. I love it. I'm using the same flavor, so I haven't cleaned the tank yet.
How often should I clean it?
Hi, gamegirl.

It depends on the flavor. I can use a tank without cleaning, just refilling 10 or 15 times with clearer juices, like torque or prime. Belgian Cocoa and Voodoo maybe only 1 refill.

If you arent changing flavors, just notice the color. If the juice you are adding is clearer than the remains in the tank, time to clean. With use, you get some build up of stuff that doesn't vape out, so it just collects on the coil head. Sometimes it darkens with the heat. That's when you need to rinse out the dregs, the stuff in the tank. I vape it down till almost empty.

What flavor are you doing?

And welcome to the forum. And we call Triton owners members of Halon!!

You are now a Halon!!!

And don't forget the code to get 10% off of juice at Halo's website...

Thanks everyone and THANK you for the code DaveOno, I will use it next time I order. I like that term Halon, I sure do love this Halo Triton.
I've been using Sub Zero mixed with Cool Mist. The Sub Zero alone was a bit too much, but when I mixed in Cool Mist it's great. Then I ordered the small size of Kringles Curse and I added some Sub Zero to that. I still have the small bottle of Mystic and Menthol Ice to try. I'm curious about the Gourmet flavors, I'll probably buy the sampler pack of that next. I'm also interested in the variable voltage battery, people seem to really like it. When I smoked, I always chose menthol, and I like the Halo menthol flavors, way better than what I was buying before. This is my first "tank" system. I was buying Play Vapor, Green Smoke and South Beach before. I'm going to use them up, because I have them, but I don't plan to re-order any of those anymore. I may try the G6 in the future for using when I'm at work. They don't let us vape in the office, so I go outside with the smokers. I haven't brought my Triton to work, still using the more cigarette like appearance vapes when I'm there. But I don't even enjoy them anymore, not since the Triton. I'm spoiled now.

Halon©2013 wheezal - n. Refers to a person who owns or uses Halo products. The term was first brought into the lexicon by the brilliant wheezal in late 2013. There are no further requirements to being a Halon, but fondness for bacon, Kringle's Curse or bourbon will be favorably considered.

If you get the gourmet samples, try Malibu, my fav. And I would buy another tank, if nothing more than to try Belgian Cocoa. It really deserves a pristine tank. And try Malibu with a bit of Belgian, mmnnnn.

And screw the smokers! Let them see how an intelligent woman researches and discovers one of the best vaping gear made. (What color did you get?) All the smokers do for you is make you smell smoky! cause you are outside with them!! How dare they! lol

Why not just vape the Triton? Either save those cig-a-likes for backup, or when you need a cig-looking device. I haven't run across that situation yet, after 5+ months. But vape what you love. Life is too short to vape crap.

Or better yet, gift them to a smoker to get them on board!!!

I have used Tritons still I started vaping, and usually just clean them when the juice taste bad or burnt. Also if they start leaking on the battery or "gurgling" I will change the wick, usually helps. I mix a lot of juices together, so usually don't clean them when I want to change flavors. I think you'll be able to tell when they need cleaned.

I ordered the gourmet sample pack, a red tank, and the variable voltage battery in iridescence. When I ordered the starter kit, I got the smaller sized batteries in pink. I get about a day out of the small battery. I love your post DaveOno, life is too short to vape crap!!!

I cleaned one of the tanks yesterday. Just used hot water and it's fine. I put Menthol Ice in the tank, switched from Sub Zero, so it's not a big flavor change. Don't know if the wick still had some flavor from the Sub Zero since they are both menthol flavors, but I don't really care.

Have you ever vaped so much that you wake up with a sore throat? Don't know if I'm fighting off a cold or just vaping too much. I love this stuff, I know that I vape much more than I ever smoked. I wasn't a big smoker, a pack of cigarettes would last me a week, and I only started smoking when I was really stressed out, not really a regular smoker.
