As the title states I would like to know how frequently you need to build a new coil for a rta like the Lemo/Lemo Drop. I've read that kanthal gets rusty after a little bit. Input?
Normally, I give it 4 or 5 weeks before I will build a fresh coil for my RTAs.....but, there are times when I am planning on just changing wicks, and because the coil is so gunked up and nasty (even after just a week or two of using dark juices) it is quicker for me to build a new coil than try to get the gunked up coil cleaned up adequately.
I have only rebuilt my older pieces once or twice, but like LMS said it depends on the juice you are using, how much you vape it, and how much power you use when you vape it...just my experience.
rebuilding evod heads - there are a few that i dont rebuild at all, dry burning and cleaning them is all thats needed(and only takes a few seconds) - as long as you rewick you should be fine.
from what i understand and have seen - there are those who NEVER change the coil. i met a guy who wrapped a 1.5 coil for his kayfun tank and never changed it. he always dry burns and rewicks the tank - year later on the SAME coil. and no issues yet.
My coils lasts for months and months and months. I finally just change it because I want something to do. I do just plain o'l 1.4Ω simple single coils. Of course I dry burn and change the wick occasionally. But I don't even do that often enough. Am I becoming a vaping sloth? Doesn't matter, I love it.
