This video was created for PhreakySTS9 he asked for some help on the rebuild able atomizer section forum. I asked him to come here and post any further questions he may have being its a GG product he will get more information here.
I made him the following YouTube Video

GG Penelope Single Coil Build 1.5 ohms 4.2 volts

This video is dedicated to PhreakySTS9 Grats on your new GG device.
Welcome to the GG family.

In this video you will see how to make a quick single coil and how it produces decent vapor and very very wet juicy. I created a single 1.5 ohms 34 guage resistance wire on 1 18650 battery fully recharged is 4.2 volts 9AW IMR 2000mAh). I did a single wick on this demonstration because I'm at 4.2 volts if i was going to go higher on volts then i would need a second wick so it wont dry out so fast and avoids metal and dry taste. At this voltage 4.2v one wick is more than sufficient even with the VG juice i showed.

Now if you find it to be a little cool you can always make a dual coil which you can find it on my ecig channel named revised dual highlander coils. That will show how to mount it on base.

If you have any questions feel free to post on the GG forum in ECF. you can get a hold of me there or you can pm me or email me if you need any more assistance.

Good Luck buddy and grats again on your device.

Wires can be purchased by them too but if they out of stock you can use ebay, amazon etc.

Wow, man, I can't thank you.enough for making this video. I realized that i'm going to have to start it all over again, because 2.5ohms is obviously NOT right. I assume all the prejoined wires (I still have 6-7 left) are all at about 1.6ohms right? I measured my silica and they're actually 2 ad 2.5mm's, not 3 and 3.5 like I assumed. I really can't figure out why i'm having such a harder time with the Penelope than the Ody. Even though my Oddy is a drip mode, the coil building and cup aren't all that different except for the Oddy having metal on both sides and running the lead through the ring instead of just down the side.

Do you think using the two 2.5mm wicks is what's causing me issues with wicking? Also, i'm a genesis guy for the most part but i've been dying for a nice RBA that I can carry in my pocket and not ever have to worry if I just leaked 3mL's of juice in my pocket. Being a SS mesh user, i'm wondering if maybe i'm just not used to silica? I've never been a big silica guy before, as with all my other non genesis styles, I usually use cotton mesh instead of silica. Can silica give more of a throat hit than cotton (as in on the unpleasant side of things, I don't like a super harsh vape)? I just placed an order for some extra GGTB batts and Butterscotch from CoV and i'm really kicking myself for not thinking to measure the silica I had before now, I really should have ordered some 3.5mm. I've bought all my GG stuff (except my GGTB which I bought directly from Bruce at VaperCon) off the classies and have been just using the wick they came with.

Do you know what could possibly cause a short on a setup like this? When I made my second (and only) coil on the Penelope it didn't fire properly and I actually had to wiggle the wick/coil around to get it to fire properly. I know I should have just taken the hint and redone it from there but I couldn't think of any good reason this would have happened. It's all hooked up properly, and i'm using a prejoined wire as i'm yet to get any NR wire. Maybe I should jumpstart my NR wire order as well. Thank you again, and I can't say how grateful I am for you doing this! I am determined to master this because I just cannot go back to non-rebuildables, except for my beloved 306 atties. Once my 306's die I won't be buying any more most likely, and I really need to master this for out and about use. Thanks again! :D

And yes I do almost feel like a newb all over again when it comes to GG stuff. Imeo's creations are just so unique and out of this world it's like starting vaping all over again playing with his stuff! Haha.

Also, I do need to get a real multimeter. What I usually do for measuring coil resistances before wrapping is attaching a loose piece of wire to the positive and negative terminals of a genesis and checking the resistance on my Provari, but now that i'm going to be having to make my own wires once my prejoin's run out it's definitely not something I can just guess and adjust by removing a wrap like I can on one of my genes.

So does anybody have an answer to my question? What is causing my Penelope to short? I feel like it should be a lot easier than a genesis since there's no SS mesh, it's just silica. But for some reason it's shorting out. I'm waiting until my 3.5mm wick comes in from CoV to redo it but i'd like to know why it's shorting so I can fix it when I rewrap everything.

Thank you very much Imeo! When my 3.5mm wick gets here I will redo it all and check everything you listed! :D Love your products!

Edit: I just adjusted the coil I had and moved the negative wire a bit and now it's working FLAWLESSLY! 1.6ohms on the dot, like it should be! :D This thing is like a freight train now! Thanks Imeo!
