How to build subohm coils

Hello, I've been vaping for a couple months now and just started to get into modding a few weeks ago. I started with making anywhere from .4 to .7 ohm coils. I think I'm ready to step it up to .1 to .2 ohm coils. I have the Sony us18650 so it can handle some amperage. I currently have 26ga wire and without making anything smaller than a 3 wrap coil I can't get below .3 ohms. I've seen some parallel wound coils and also some twisted wire coils. What would he the best way to go about getting these low ohm coils? Bigger gauge? Parallel coils? Twisted coils? Thanks for the help

well I'm getting a good amount of vapor but I'm not where I want to be with the amount. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how some coils are higher resistance than other but pump out vapor. Then again some of the very low ohm set ups are cloud makers. I have a .4 ohm set up with 5 wraps of 26g micro coil of coarse. But thanks ill give it a look.

You might look into using a different wick material?

OP, I'm not trying to be a safety Nazi but do you know how to calculate the amperage of your coil builds? I saw that you have a Sony 18650, but that means very little without knowing its amp rating and the amperage your build will demand of it.

Also, I ain't the kinda guy to tell another guy how to vape, but if you aren't making towering cumulonimbus clouds at .4 ohms, the problem isn't with the resistance of the build.

Since a few people recommended Rip Tripper videos, there are quite a few where he fogs the room with > 1 ohm coils. You don't have to go dangerously low ohm to make clouds man.

By the way, if you are making dual coils on an RDA chances are overwhelming they are in parallel already.

Just to add, I believe the lowest SAFEST build you can make with the Sony VTC batteries is 0.3 Ohms.

The lowest safe build, assuming that you want to discharge the entire battery in one shot, is 0.14

V = IR
4.2 = 30 * R
R = 0.14

That is based on it's continuous amp discharge.

However, the 30 amp sonys have a pulse rating of 60 amps, which means that you can fire up to 60 amp for 30 second bursts.

I'm using cotton for my wick. I just feel like my micro coils aernt good enough. 5 wrap around a 1/8 drill bit. And they heat up pretty equally.

Try wrapping your coils around a 1/16 bit if you have one. If not, find something that is roughly the same size. Which RBA are you using and how big is the air hole?

Are you taking care to align the coil with the air hole? What is your VG ratio?
