Well I got my nautilus early Friday afternoon and started out with the 1.8ohm head. I have been running it at 4.2v on the second to largest air hole with 50/50 juice. I noticed this evening I started getting a slight burnt taste so I had to down the voltage to 4.0 and even there was getting it a little bit. I decided to throw the 1.6ohm head in and try a dry burn on the 1.8 as I have a 5 pack of them coming tomorrow. The coil that's visible through the top looked kind of gunked up. It wasn't glowing red at first but was putting off plenty of vapor while dry burning. Eventually it started glowing red so I rinsed it with hot water and now am soaking it over night in vodka. Tomorrow I will rinse it out really well and give it a try and see if this dry burning and cleaning made a difference. I will let you know! Also just a quick question. What are most of you guys running the 1.6ohm head at voltage wise? I don't want to end up popping it or anything. Running it at 3.8 right now. Once it "breaks in" a little bit and I have more heads I'll run it a little bit hotter.

I clean my heads in Ever Clear or Absolut Vodka. I keep a cup by my sink and drop them in. I've also used denture cleaners like Polident for the bodies and such then rinse them with fresh water. I don't wash off the Aspire heads with water nor dry burn them. I only dry burn single coils. The Aspire heads can also be rebuilt if you have the eyes for it, as shown by Rip Tripper's videos.

Well after a long soak in vodka I took my 1.8ohm coil and rinsed it very well in hot water and dry burnt it a little bit more to dry out the inside and gave it a try. I'm still getting a slight burnt taste even at 4v. Not as bad as it was before the cleaning. Vapor production is about where it used to be. I don't think dry burning is good for the filler material in the heads. I think maybe just soaking in vodka/alcohol may be the best method. I can tell it cleaned the juice out of the head because the vodka turned the color of the juice I was using. Also I can only see one coil when dry burning. I'm not sure where the other one is. I am a little disappointed that I started getting a slight burnt taste out of this coil with only 3 days of use. That's what made me decide to dry burn and clean it in the first place. Anyone else experience this? I have the 1.6ohm now soaking in the vodka and I will try that one out again after a day or so WITHOUT dry burning and see what I get. This one wasn't tasting burnt or anything but the vapor production seemed to have dropped off some and I've only been using it since Sunday evening. I hope I get good life out of the 5 pack of heads I bought. I am not into rebuilding so I have no choice but to buy them. I may get into rebuilding eventually but not ready for it yet.

I don't dry burn the Aspire heads at all nor do I rinse with water. I've not gotten a burnt taste at all. I do get a slight silica taste though from all of them but plan on following Rip Trippers videos on rebuilding them using cotton.
