The BEST thing i have found to do with a new mech mod ( before you even pop a battery in ) and also come cleaning time, is take it totally apart and wash each and every piece and thread with some dish soap, warm water and a toothbrush.

Before i started doing this to my new mods i got, My mods would need Noalox on the threads because the Threads would be dry/scratchy and sometimes certain things just didnt feel "new" and "smooth"

One night i decided to tear apart one of my mech mods and just went at it with a toothbrush and some regular dawn dish soap. I dried it all off and without even putting Noalox on, The mod/threading/parts all felt like butter! Felt like a new mod! Ever since then, I hardly even use my Noalox these days unless its REALLY needed.

Give it a try!
