For the single coil evod/kanger atty heads this is the process that I use.

Atomizer Cleaning

Soak in 91% Isopropyl alcohol or everclear over night or until I get 5-6 to clean.
Rinse throughly with warm tap water forcing water into the wick area.
Towel dry and blow out any water.
Mount the head on a tank base.
Remove the gasket and stem.
Remove the flavor wick(s).
Mount the tank base with the atomizer head on your PV.
Dry burn 6 watts, 5 seconds on/off. Repeat until coils are all turning red and wick is clean.
Blow the burned off crud away.

Hold the flavor wick with tweezer while burning them with a lighter or torch until wick is clean.
-Place the flavor wick back on top of the coil.
Or
-Replace the flavor wick with the material of your choice.

Reinstall the stem and gasket.

I use cheap 151 proof vodka - Galens. I'd use Everclear (190 proof) if it was available in Ohio but it's not. Safe for human consumption (but not recommended :) I have a mason-type jar with a sealed top. Put just enough vodka to cover all coils. Leave it for 4-8 hours. Leaving it longer can affect the wicking. No rinse necessary with just PGA (pure grain alcohol/vodka - but very necessary with isopropyl - it leaves a film/odor on metal). Put on a paper towel to dry - with 151 proof it dries quicker than water.

This should extend the life of the coil by about a month - ymmv defending on how much you use it. I do this about three times for coils before pitching them. I used to do the soak first, then dry burn, then resoak but I quit dry burning coils... so I just do one soak each time the draw gets tight on the clearo - then about three times and then pitch :)

That's what I do, too. And I rinse the coils after the dry burn.

Works with dual coils as well, but you have to be careful, as you can't see the second coil.

Both single and dual coils can easily be rebuilt. I rebuild my DC heads with a horizontal single coil--I like it better and it's much easier.

I use Want2Vape's Atty Refresher. I drip a few drops on the coil and hit it without inhaling. Repeat until the wick is pure white again.

I also bought some 1 mm silica wick for rebuilding, so when I use the Atty Refresher, I just toss the old flavor wicks and replace with two new strands of silica.

I use everclear on my Kanger clearmizer. I put them in a tupperware type covered container, let sit for a minimum of 2 hours, take out of the everclear and sit on the desk for an hour or so. Then put them in a cloth bag (an old pillow case) and put over a heater grate during the winter. Then I do an ohms check and make sure I am in the expected range - if it isn't I put it in the rebuild pile - if it is then vape away until it gets clogged again.

Hey yppan!

If you have stock coils, you can do a "dryburn" technique that will get some of the gunk off the coil. Stock coils are wicked with silica, which shouldn't go up in flames.

Basic gist is to disassemble your tank. Then, pull the chimney off the coil head. There will be two thin strands of silica. Carefully lay those aside. Then, put the coil back into the base and put it back on your battery. PULSE the coil - you'll get some smoking, but you'll start to see the wick get whiter and the coil start to burn red. At that point, give a few more pulses. Let it cool a bit and remove the head from the base of your tank. Carefully lay the two extra wicks back on top and put the chimney back on. You should have a pretty fresh head that you can reuse.

If you don't want to dryburn, you can at least try to soak the head in a bit of vodka or pure grain alcohol for a couple hours or over night. Give a good rinse and let dry before reusing.

If you want to get into the rebuilding world, click on my blog links and you'll see a couple of sites that show you how to completely disassemble and rebuild your coil heads. I have been rebuilding for about 9 months now, and it's amazingly easy and inexpensive.

Otherwise, you probably should just grab a new coil and start from fresh.....
