How to drop your vape & then fix it.

Last night my wife put something down when all I heard were my two Evic mini's with their Tron tanks fall crashing and clattering to a tile floor. Luckily she missed the istick/Theorem beside them. On picking them up I was surprised to find both tanks still in one piece but one of the units would not fire as it wouldn't read the atty any more. After determining it wasn't the mods problem and it wasn't just a case of something coming loose, and having once before done the same with a Lemo 2 I knew how to fix it. The bases on many atty's are made with two or more parts press fit together. A sizable knock can jar them causing the positive pin to no longer contact the post properly. I took the atty's base off and turned it upside down on a hard flat surface. Using a socket from a tool kit so as not to damage the 510 connection on the bottom of the atty I gave it a wack with a hammer. That realigned the parts and again allowed it to make a connection. Hope this helps anyone else butter fingered enough to be dropping their vape.

Ah yes, the ubiquitous hammer...similar to how I used to fix my '87 Ford F-350. Crude, but it works!

Simply dropping it again has also worked for me.

Funny you mention this. Last night one of my coworkers vapes would not fire and I found the center pin was mashed in on his tank to be that reason as it was not making contact to the center pin on his mod. I will pass the info on and hopefully resolve his issue. this for the tidbit of info!!!

It wasn't a pushed in center pin the halves of the base were actually misaligned. On my first one, the Lemo 2, I played with the adjustable pin over and over and even tried shimming the top of the pin so as to have it sit a bit lower in the base. That worked inconsistently. You couldn't actually tell that the base was misaligned just by looking at it. On the Tron tank it was actually crooked so it was obvious what the problem was.
