How to fix penstyle atomizers which don't work on some batteries. Oh and ignore the thread bagging Ruyan Direct, the issue is solved here

There is a slight difference between the depth of the connectors between RN DSE and other penstyles, so your battery terminals may have been pushed down in their rubber seats by so they aren't reaching the atomizer terminal. Use a bamboo skewer and wiggle your battery terminal out of its rubber seat carefully a little bit by sticking the pointed end in the battery hole, problem solved.

'Dead on arrival' atomizers are very rare, this is the reason for most of them not working

Here is another solution from a switched on forum member who has also identified the problem and figured out a solution instead of blaming the supplier.

"Please do NOT use the foil trick. It can cause the battery to short & cause a fire. Here is a method that has worked for me on over 20 atoms. 100% of the time. The problem is the thread is a hair to long for the center contact on the atomizer to make. Just take a small screwdriver or tweezers etc. & LIGHTLY pry up around the center contact of the atomizer on all sides. You are only trying to make it a fraction higher. If you pry too hard you can tear out the contact. Easy does it. That has always worked for me & others who have tried this method. Let me know if you still have problems."

Same idea, I found the skewer with some side to side wiggling while pulling out gently did the trick, some batteries have a tougher insulation between the two battery terminals but mine are soft rubber so it was a 10 second operation to fix.

Alternativly you could carefully solder a flat blob around the terminal face but it only needs to be very thin to make the distance.

This method of tweaking the Atomizer terminal instead of the battery is just as good maybe less riskier than my solution tweaking the battery terminal

I think it should be mentioned that the only reason the foil trick will cause a short is if you use too big a piece, or don't secure it in the center hole to keep it from moving when you screw on the atomizer, such that the foil touches both the center pole and any of the metal on the threads. If the foil is only making the required contact between the two center poles, it will have done the trick.

And people really do need to be careful in pulling up on the center pole as well, either of the battery or the atomizer. Because if you pull up too much you can cause the same kind of short the foil trick can cause - and I know this from personal experience.

So be careful with either way!

Yvilla, sorry to hear you had a problem with pulling up the contact of the atomizer. How much did you shift it by? It only needs to be raised a few hundreths of an inch to make good contact. I'm a bit hard pressed to see how it could be shifted enough to cause a short without breaking the internal wire which completes the circuit.

Wish I could but I don't have the hardware to take and posts pics just now sorry :(

There is a central hole in both the atomizer and battery, this is suurrounded by a donut shaped metal disc which is a battery terminal. The terminal is insulated by a flexible rubber seat which you will see around the terminal on both the battery and atomizer. Either can be gently pulled out a fraction further, all you need is a fraction.

Now it would be best to try it with the atomizer beause there is a risk that the battery could activate (especially the sensitive ones) Ifyou have metal short-circuiting the terminals (I should mention that the threaded part are the other terminal, the rubber seat in question is the insulator) and kill the battery.

I used the pointed end of a bamboo skewer which I inserted into the hole (without pushing it down of course. Then pushing to the side and pulling out slightly I wiggled the terminal out of the flexible seat slightly.

Anyone have suggestions about what to do about the same problem in a 901?
Tried pulling it up with needlenose plier tips, I'm afraid to pull anymore because it may break the connection
Btw i have 3 RN models that wont go into my SD and i also have 2 RN models and 19 DSE models which all work just fine in my SD
thanks for the suggestions
Chuck
