How to fix your V3 Joye Stick Button

Like many people I was getting fed up going through many Joye Stick e-smokes just because the button started to screw up. my finger was starting to bruise because I had to press the button very hard and hope it would work.

Warning: This will destroy the look of your Joye e-cigarette. I tried in the past to disassemble it and this sucker is glued together very well and disassembling it is not something that someone can do and expect it to work after.

so anyways, this is very easy, Please take care when using a knife to cut the plastic.. I almost removed my finger doing this when the knife slipped!.

Take a utility knife, or exacto blade and cut a line in the top cover about a 1/2" from the bottom of the cover, then divide that section in half so you have 2 pieces, then your going to have to follow the line with the knife and dig the knife in the plastic, keep checking to see when you hit green circuit board.. there does not seem to be anything printed on the side your cutting on so I don't think it will matter if you gouge it a little.
then take a small flat head screw driver and pry out the two pieces you just cut.
now you can slide the remaining piece of the cover back and pull out the switch.
clean the contacts, reinstall the switch, pop those pieces back in and use some electrical tape to cover the damage you just made.
Now the e-smoke should operate just as good as new!. (just not look good)

Hey Bob, there's an easier and less destructive way. There used to be another thread about it, not sure where it went.

Here's the method I've had good results with. Most of the button problems the V3 has seems to be related to e-liquid getting inside the case and onto the circuit board where the button is. Causes sticking and loss of contact.

Remove the battery and atomizer. Make sure you have another PV to use for the next couple of days. Fill up a sink with hot hot water. Rubber dishwashing glove if it's too hot....but the hotter the better...dissolves the dried up liquid faster.

So take the stick and submerge it in the hot water, holding it by the sides. Move it back and forth pretty forcefully under water, forcing the hot water through the atomizer and battery holes and out the other end.

Do that for a few minutes, drain it out and do it again.

Let it sit and completely dry. The two I've tried this with have both completely come back to full operation, they took a couple of days to dry enough to work. I let mine sit for a day, put a battery in and tried it....got nothing. Let it sit another day and it works just like new.

I found that the contacts in the button were full of dust/dirt or whatever it collects while in my pocket. I did do the hot water trick before and it worked great for about a week then it was back to it's old ways. from brand new it took only a few weeks for the button on almost all of my Joye sticks to act up. I know this way looks bad but when it happens again I only have to remove the tape, clean the contacts and reassemble.. no waiting period.
But the way you described works great because I have done it before.. I work in dusty environments so that is defiantly not helping.
