I ordered the basic DIY stuff, and when I ordered the nicotine I missed the facts it was a 100% VG blend of 18mg nicotine. I've been tinkering with the ejuice me up calculator and I'm not finding anything that will allow me to make it. I wanted to dilute the 18mg to 12mg. Has anyone run into something like this before?

Thanks!

use 2 parts (66%) NIC juice with 1 (33%) part plain VG. Keep in mind you'll not get 100% vg NIC juice as most flavoring have PG in them. Some venders do sell VG based flavoring. You do have to take the VG or PG flavoring into account as it is additive to your base.

If you are trying to make 100% VG liquid, as stated above you will need VG based flavors. When you enter your info into ejuice me up calculator make sure your nic strength is set at 100% VG, make sure your target ratio is set at 100% VG and make sure your flavoring is set at 100% VG.

Sorry for taking DAYS to respond on this thread! (Actual DAYS, ...!) I'm basically faced with the dilemma that I can't really find any VG based flavorings that I would want. So I'm going to have to have some PG, but no matter which way I go with that idea in mind while using the eJuice Me Up calculator... it's always giving me the error "You need to add more PG, can not use ( - ) numbers as shown. Recalculate." Im not really sure what to do but to try and find a mixed nicotine solution that has PG and VG in it.

Hey, sorry for the delay in responding but hopefully you get wind of this post :D Here comes the stupid question! When my flavoring gets here, will it automatically be 100% PG (if it's a PG based flavoring I mean)? My next question being, can I use the aforementioned method of 2 parts Nic Juice, 1 part VG, and then just add a PG based flavor? Or will that do something bad to the juice?

For me I just use a punch the buttons calculator, it is very simple.

First of all you want to determine how much of a finished product your going to make.

Let's say 30ml

In your case wanting 12mg/ml you need to punch some numbers.

30ml bottle x 12mg/ml = 360mg of nicotine.
360mg ÷ your 18mg/ml base = 20ml

So in a 30ml bottle add 20ml of your 18mg/ml nicotine solution. You have 10ml left to add flavorings or unflavored VG/PG.

If you were making a 15ml batch the math is the same.

15ml bottle x 12mg/ml = 180mg of nicotine.
180mg ÷ 18mg/ml = 10ml

So in the 15ml bottle you would add 10ml of the 18mg/ml base and have 5ml of room to add flavors or VG/PG.

For recipes that provide a percentage of flavor, say 5%, on the calculator it is 0.05 x (whatever bottle size you are using); 0.5% would be 0.005 and 10% is 0.10

With your 18mg/ml base, and making 12mg/ml juice, you have room for 33% other stuff. Very few if any recipes go beyond 20% flavoring and if they do you might want to look closer at them to see why.
