How to get rid of the taste?...

Ok, so I'm a slow learner I guess, or at least a "I have to do that at least once before I know not to ever do it again" type of person.

So I received a free bottle of juice. Decided to just put a little in my tank when it ran empty, just enough to vape for a while, give the new juice a try....

YUCK!!!!
Absolutely disgusting! (to put it mildly)

So now, I have taken my kangertech mini subtank apart, pulled the cotton wick out of there, rinsed everytrhing out with SCALDING hot water, dried everything real nice, a couple/few pulses of dry burn, put NEW cotton coil in, wet it down, put everything back together.
vaping just peachy, but that TASTE!
It's still there. Even after new cotton.

How the heck do I get rid of that taste?

Anyone?....do I just have to vape through it for a while or something?
Never experienced this before. I never switch juices. I vape the same thing, day in, day out....
not sure why I decided to ruin it for myself....

Try dripping. Drippers are simpler and easier to clean out, with fewer nooks and crannies. And easier to rewick in many cases. Drippers are good for taste testing and switch hitting.

Try an alcohol soak. Best is everclear or vodka, next best is isopropyl but then you want to soak it in water and rinse well. I've never had a problem with residual tastes but we are all different.

Thanks, I'll try the alcohol soak.
Unfortunately, I have to run out, so it'll have to wait till I get back.
In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to vape the nasty stuff.
I don't have a backup
(another stupid lesson..... Gave all my 'old' stuff away when I switched to a 30w box mod and subtank)

X2 on the ever clear/vodka. You can also run some straight (unflavored) VG through, I've had some success with that.

Some flavors seem to never leave though, tried Pluid once and had to retire the atty

I clean mine with an old toothbrush and dish soap, hot and very sudsy. It may take a good cleaning and scrubbing with it, or2,3. Clove liquid for me is the toughest to get that clove taste out of. Make sure to remove orings and clean.

I prefer to drink my vodka. Dish soap seems to work just as good. After a long cleaning, an ice cold screwdriver is refreshing.

I've had a subtank before and this is what I normally do.

Be sure to take the tank apart. Every single piece, glass, o rings, everything. Grab a bowl and fill it with hot water and let it soak for about an hour. Then add about a tablespoon of alcohol for about another hour, then rinse everything else out and soak it in hot water again (so much water! California would hate me) for about another hour. I've never once had a taste linger doing this!

Some flavors/brands are just seriously strong and seem to linger around, maybe it's just one fraction of a drop sitting someplace but if it's a flavor that makes you use the Yuck face then you're likely to notice it even if it's just some little microdrop of it somewhere in the tank.

I usually just suck it up and vape through it. Eventually most flavors/brands eventually depart. The only ones that I use exclusive tanks for are the space jam liquids as to me they simply won't go away no matter how long parts are soaked in a vodka bath, or a denture tablet bath or whatever. Actually in the vodka bath the vodka needs to be changed several times as the smell of space jam gets into the vodka and if I use it for any other part cleaning it puts the space jam smell on the other parts. So it's easier to just keep a tank for that especially.

I don't even mess around with my subtank as that glass is on their so good that I can't even get it off so I just use it for one flavor until the seals start to break down when it should be easier to pull the glass off without breaking it.

Grab a gas-station cigalike to get you through - bad juice is better than REALLY bad juice...

+2 on the Everclear soak - just don't drink it after.
