Now that my GGTS is my #1 device I am trying to find different functions and setups for my GGT and Slim.
I can't get the atty brass cap off of my GGT (any ideas?) but I am thinking about the newer AW high drain 16340 and making it a shorty for some occasions (plane, driving, etc). Which atty should I use? LR? I3s?
The slim is harder. I don't get much steam out of this little guy (which I took back recently from my ex-wife as she wasn't using it). I am using 10440 batteries (blue Ultrafires and some silver ones too). I am using a regular atty. Should I use LR atties on this? Different battery? Cartos? Haven't had much success getting much out of this unit so far.

You need new batteries for the Slim. I was getting a lack of performance from mine until I got some of the cigar batts from Rob at Vapor Kings. I was thinking there might be some problem with the device but it turned out to be the batteries were just worn out.

The stuck cap can be removed with a strap wrench. They have a rubber strap the will not damage the cap. You may need two of em though. Or some way of holding the sleeve without scratching it. A leather glove works pretty good also. Remember to put some noalox on the threads when you put it back together.

I have some rubber strap wrenches at home and will give that a try.
I have some of Robs cigar batts in a cart just waiting for some more things to buy.
Are you still liking cartos on the slim?
Got a bottle of noalax and love the stuff.
would a low res. atty be too dangerous with the unprotected little battery?

That is a good point and I am glad that you asked about the LR atty and the non protected battery..... I would be leery of using that set up. You don't really notice the vapor drop like you will on standard atties. I think I have ruined a few batteries with the LR atty and probably have come close to venting a few times too. So if you do use that set up please be careful and keep an eye on the voltages when you take em out.

I still use cartos on the Slim yes...

Been using l/r 510's for a while slim with unprotected 10440's not noticed any difference to battery life
as vapin say's take care check battery state regularly the 510's i use at moment are 1.8 ohm made by sb so not as low as joye..

might try a lr 510 and see. i need an adapter for the slim don't i?

for some reason i have several new sets of trustfirestr10440 protected that don't fit the slim. maybe if i ever get a SS they will fit in that unit.

Unfortunately protected batteries do not fit original slim and yes you need a 901 to 510 adaptor and if you don't have one buy a drip tip
