Geniune Joye has a silver band and the starter kits come with 650mah batteries. Those are Rivas. You can tell by the gold band and the batteries are 750mah, which is standard for Riva starter kits. I have 4 Rivas and I love them, but I wouldn't buy from that website. The price they're charging is WAY out of line for a Riva. Try MapVapes or Liberty Flights.

downtownfish,

Try liberty-flights.com and litecigusa.net. They usually have some good deals. On liberty-flights, look for the kits under the ECF title. They will usually put up about 50 units at a good price. I am going to check both tomorrow to see if there is a Black Friday sale happening. (one can hope!) =)
I will say this....I bought a 1300mAh kit for a good price. Turns out it was made by beauway. It works well however, I ordered my boyfriend a standard 650mAh eGo kit and I do prefer his over mine. They are both nice, but there is just a bit "better" quality on his. This is just my opinion, and my preference.
Good Luck and I hope you like what you get!

The Joye eGos have recessed plastic buttons, not the rubber buttons that Rivas and Bauways have. I know for a fact that it's easy for a Bauway rubber button to get easily pushed inside and then it will burn the connector that's under the button. This won't happen with a genuine eGo, because the plastic button is more protected than the Bauways. I don't have a Riva, so I can't comment, except that I wouldn't buy a generic eGo.

The only reason the Riva has a longer battery life than an eGo 650mAh is because the Riva is a 750mAh battery. I prefer the Joye eGo 900mAh batteries myself. They are a perfect length (3 3/8") for my hand and last for 9 hours with constant vaping.

And I'm sorry about that, Tracy. I know when I posted my first response to you, it was to buy all the parts at litecigusa.net (including the 900mAh eGo, which I had just ordered for my friend), and then at the same time, I saw someone else recommend the 1300 kit, so I posted that addl msg with the link to where you bought your 1300 kit, and I hoped you wouldn't buy it from there. But you jumped on it, probably since it was a higher mAh and less overall price. At that time, I had just received that kit in the mail and didn't realize it was a Bauway, until one of the batteries' button went all the way inside and burned the connector underneath (my fault, but I'll admit it's cheaply made, and sorry that I didn't realize it was a generic when I posted that second msg). I've always wished I would never have posted that second message to you.

Oh my goodness Deb, do not apologize!!! I am still very grateful for your help and advice when I was starting out. =) It's just that now that I have one of each, I can feel a difference and prefer the genuine eGo. I actually want a 900mAh down the road, and will no doubt get one. I am waiting for a good deal and still debating on whether to get pink or stainless! ha! I use my 1300 every single day but I can honestly see how the button can get stuck, like you mentioned. I think I will like the 900 best (as you do) as the 650 feels tiny in my hand. Of course, compared to that big daddy 1300, what wouldn't? lol

Please do not apologize. I value your opinions and do not feel one bit steered in the wrong direction. It's all good. =)

They have them for 40 dollars for the black friday sale. They are local, and I can pick it up today which is the only reason for going through this website. So for 40 dollars should I jump on it, or should I wait and get the true Joye ego? Sorry for all the questions guys.

A lot of people LOVE their riva's/bauways, so the answer here is to do what you feel comfortable with. If you can go see it in person and are happy with it, Go For It!!! Whatever you decide, I hope your experience rocks!

I have both the riva and genuine joye ego900 mah. I've had problems with riva button sticking on both batteries and one of the buttons is partially torn so I decided to spend a little more for the original ego to see if it was worth the extra $. Answer is a definite yes for me. Much higher quality, better feel, better threading, better finish. Well worth the small increase in price.

I'd get the genuine eGo, but that's just my opinion.

Here are four suppliers where you can get a great eGo 650mAh kit that you'd most likely be very happy with:

Puresmoker.com has eGo kits for $44.99 plus shipping of $5, if you use the coupon code of EGO10. Choice of four colors. Total cost = $49.99.
http://www.puresmoker.com/product_p/joyeego.htm

Myfreedomsmokes.com has eGo kits for $47.97 plus shipping of $5.95, if you use the coupon codes of either FREEDOM or SMOKE. Choice of two colors. Total cost = $53.92.
Joye eGo Starter Kit (Titanium) - MFS Inc.

Liberty-Flights.com has eGo kits for $51.96 plus $2.99 shipping if you use the coupon code of ECF. Choice of 8 colors. Ships from CA. Total cost = $54.95.
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

Litecigusa.net has eGo kits for $54.95 plus $2 shipping for orders under $75. No discount but they have a rewards program for future savings. Choice of 3 colors. Ships from PA. Total cost = $56.95.
Electronic Cigarette Supplies & Electronic Cigarette Refills for Name-Brand Electronic Cigarettes! E-Cigs from LiteCigUSA
