Hi!
Today both batteries I have died on me 8-o
Replacements will be here in a week or so.
I really don't want t go back to the cancer sticks.

I need to make an USB passthrough fast from stuff I available.

I tried connecting a USB charger to the atty but it won't heat up
I put a switch on one cable, and pressing it makes the charger led go red as if it's charging but atty won't heat up?

I would post a pic but the forum won't let me.
Hmm I'll try it like this: (imagebam dot com) SLASH image SLASH 36676e43337599

I made no shorts, what am I missing?

Help!

1) don't use a charger
2) get a USB cord, a switch, and one of your batteries, some black electrical tape and a soldering iron, and some silver solder. (if you have a broken quickcam, you have the cord and switch)
3) Remove the connector from the dead battery.
4)cut the insulation on the usb cord, strip the Red and Black wires (red = 5v+, black = Ground).
5) Connect the black directly to the removed battery connector outside where the old wire used to be. (should be a tiny blob of solder still there)
6) Connect the red to one end of your switch.
7) Connect the other end of the switch to the middle contact on the battery connector where the old connection used to be (should be a tiny blob of solder there).
8) Using black electrical tape, carefully isolate the red and black connections, then tape them to something sturdy like a pen, pencil, or the original battery housing. If you feel creative, put everything inside the battery housing carefully, and put the battery connector back inside too, and drill a hole in it and mount your switch.
9) Plug contraption(edited for spelling error) into back of computer (NOT THE FRONT!)
10) Screw in atomizer
11) Vape
12) Garnish and serve, feeds 4.

Why not?
IIRC some people on this board did just that?
Seems like a sensible thing to do?

2) get a USB cord, a switch, and one of your batteries, some black electrical tape and a soldering iron, and some silver solder. (if you have a broken quickcam, you have the cord and switch)
3) Remove the connector from the dead battery.

USB cord+
tape+
soldering iron+
battery+

Now, how would one get the connector detached from the battery?

I tried to at least get the led cap off, but only managed to damage the plastic a bit.
Also I'm hesitant to destroy the batteries as I can get them replaced on warranty, though it'll take a while for the turnaround. Also here they cost 22 $ us a pop.

I'd much rather cobble something up from misc computer parts, LOL, as a computer technician I have loads of those.

Just be sure: could I power the atty without parts from the batteries?
I also have loads of different power adapters I could use (I'll try that while I wait :)

lmfao you got much to learn, youre putting a switch to try and charge an atomizer.

open up the charger and remove the guts, then connect the usb to the connecter wires and put a switch in there.

Much to learn, sure.
But working passthrough I made :pervy:
Connected it directly to +5v from a USB extender cable.
Though I think I should close the holes on the atty for a better draw
