510 passthrough DIY?

My 510 passthrough died today, could have been the battery, who can say.

What would happen if I cut out the battery section and linked up the wires from the USB directly to the wires that go through the manual switch?

Would this fry my atty/computer?

You can open up the box and connect a wire between the IN+ and OUT+ on the circuit board (just solder a straight wire). Keep the battery out permanently and you have basically bypassed the circuitry (and also increased the voltage).

It depends on the PC. It may be a little low on the amperage, but it should still vape. For best results get a powered USB hub (that provides 2Amps). But I have done this mod at home on my PC and it's hasn't been a problem without a hub. My motherboard is worth less than a USB hub so I didn't elect to buy one.
