So I just switched over from using a tank to an RDA and this is what I've been experiencing

The cloud difference is pretty noticeable, I get a lot more vapor out of an RDA than I did with my tank but the downside is the flavor is noticeably much worse...not as in bad tasting but it's not as strong or present it feels like. I don't really like using a tank because I like dripping and switching up flavors all the time.

Could it be something wrong or is that a pretty normal thing? I think my Wattage is fine I have it set to 85 and it gets warm fast, I can only hit for about 2 seconds.

Edit: I may have found part of the problem, lowering it down to 60W seems to give more flavor, not as warm but I can taste it better

Actually it is probably the whole problem. Heat will destroy flavor.

Usually dripping gives better flavor (at least for me it does). How many drops are you putting into the atty? I'm assuming it's the same juice you would run through your tank? I have a 27mm RDA and I put 20 drops into it and it gives me about 4-6 good pulls off of it and I'm running it at 220W on a .17 dual alien build. If I use a smaller RDA (24mm) I only put 16 drops (at max) in it and I get the same number of pulls off of it before I need to re-drip.

Flavor in an RDA is all about the coil. And the wick. And the airflow. And the chamber of the RDA.
And you didn't give any of that information!
Single or dual coils? SS or Kanthal? Build and Wraps and Resistance? High or low position?
Loose or tight wick? What material?
AFC setting? Drip tip? Air under coil, over coil, right at coil?
ALL those things impact the flavor...

Bottom line - you probably just need to adjust your setup - but we don't have the info to help!

"I can only hit it for 2 seconds..."
Your problem might be hidden in that statement. Using an RDA doesn't necessarily mean ultra low builds and super high watts with garage door airflow. You can certainly go that route but it's not needed. If you can only hit it for 2 seconds, you either need to increase your airflow or lower your watts. What RDA are you using and what build do you have in it? Details are helpful.

Just like all Tanks don't give you the same Flavor. Not all RDA's will give you the same Flavor.

As a Single Coil Flavor Chaser (SCFC), I look for RDA's that have a Small Chamber size. Like the Stumpy or the NarDa. These tend to produce more Flavor (for me) than RDA's with Larger Chambers.

But the List things on the list Train2 posted have to be consider also. And I would also add Inner Bore size of Drip Tip can effect Flavor also.

I step away for a few months and "SCFC" is an actual thing now? Cool! I finally have a title that doesn't end with "hole"!

I just make them up on the Fly. Some catch on, some don't.

And figure it gives the FDA, CDC, or someone like the NIH one more thing to Figure Out.

BTW - Good to see you Posting again. And hope Everything is going Good on your end.

Hey thanks for all the help guys

I use the Tsunami 24mm RDA
Lowering from 90Watts to 55Watts made a big difference, I have 2 airflow holes open so that should help.
Using dual coil 22gauge kanthal
glad it's getting better! 22ga is pretty much cloud chasing wire. You will get better flavor from 24 or 26 ga. kinda....depends on your building skills.

Do you have pics of your coil placement and wick?
Sometimes the placement can make a world of difference :)
Same goes with wick :)
What RDA are ya using?

Too close to the center and it'll spit at ya. Leave enough air flow under your wick :)
Always start with lower watts and work your way up to a comfortable vape :)

Worse though really, now you're a SCFC.
Try pronouncing the acronym...
you know, like, FBI is "fibby"... The second inserted vowel is obvious. FIrst one could be a "u" or an "i".

I got the Velocity with a .21 build 22 gauge kanthal 6 wraps. I'm getting clouds! The flavor can't be better with this juice I just picked up. Strawberry Watermelon max vg by Sweet Shack. It's delicious! I also picked up Marsh Mallow Man 2 Toasted Marshmallow max vg but didn't taste is yet. Of course flavor has to do with the build, wicking, watts & airflow but don't forget to buy that great juice you love!
