Ever since Sub ohm tanks have started to come out, most of them will keep up with the vapor production of some RDA's, With them having pre-built coils in the .2-.4 range I feel like the gap is closing between how much better the Subtanks are catching up with cloud and vapor production compared to that of an RDA.. What is your opinion on this? I still think RDA's will always take the win for flavor but the tanks these days are putting out as much vapor as most of RDA's with everyone being obsessed with sub ohm tanks.

There is a small percentage of people who can build on an RDA well enough to beat any tank out there in vapor and flavor, but for the majority of people a high quality subohm tank can match or beat what they can do with an RDA. A Starre, Crown, Zephyrus, or TFV4 tank can easily match or exceed the performance of most RDA user builds. It's going to take someone with real knowledge and skill in RDA building to outperform these tanks. For those who have the abilities, the RDA will always be the best, but for the majority of people, these tanks can match them.

My opinion is they are miles away. I have a Starre and an Arctic tank and flavor and cloud production is there but I will always prefer a dripper because the direct airflow controls everything. I would like to try a TFV4, maybe the quad coils can bring some hope, but until then, all my tanks stay in storage.

"How close is the gap between RDA'S and Sub Tanks..."

I suppose the gap is best described as overlap.

On the typical rda, there is a bigger deck space to work with and for people building big coils they can outfog any tank with a reduced space deck.
And of course the typical rda has potentially bigger airflow than the typical tank.

But for somebody like me and may 'tootlepuffers' vaping at less than 20 watts, often on a single coil, those tanks can be more than adequate.

Of course with a tank (unless it's the flashevapor) you can't just do like I just did and add a few drops of 24mg halo Malibu to my rda in a few seconds on the fly anytime I felt like it.
oo00oo that's stong..
i'll just add in a couple drops from my vg+water base liquid....

there we go........

I have yet to seen a tank outperformed my drippers and im not even that advanced of a builder.
