IME the thing about polishing one scratch out is that you'll want to polish the whole piece to make it look right. I don't think it is possible to match the factory finish on the spot you polish... the grain will be different, or it will be more shiny or more matte. Maybe I just suck at polishing though. I had to get some deep scratches out of a piece I bought here in the classified, and I had to use some medium-fine grit sandpaper by hand to do it (no dremel). Then I finished with very fine grain sandpaper and polishing compound on the rest of it to make it look uniform. Turned out very shiny, but pretty nice. It also took about an hour and my hands were pretty sore
