How to search and give list of posts not threads

I can't figure out the search engine. When I search I will get mainly threads with 100's of posts. There should be a means for it to spit out individual posts? I checked the how 2's.

Anyone know?

Use "Advanced Search" and scroll down to "Show Results As:" and select "Posts".
