This Chuck was shipped to me this morning - I think Jeff first posted it on Saturday or Sunday as 'The Weave', just black on black, with the suggestion that he might put an illusion clear coat on it. I was lucky enough to get back to him fast enough that I'm getting it.

It's a 901, and I have black atomizers that should arrive tomorrow, and my batteries should also be here tomorrow - a couple of single-use CR123A's, some rechargable ones, two 18650's and chargers all around <g>.

The black atomizers (with black carts) will make this a very formal Chuck - I've ordered a more casual Little Chuck with graphics.

Since this is my first MOD, it's also going to be my first 6 volt vaping. Depending on when my Chuck arrives I may not have charged up all the rechargeable batteries for it, so I'd have to start the 6V right away.

So, for those of you who have lots of experience with high volt mods, what juice should I start with? I have about 15 different flavors now, including Marlboro, 555, RY5 and Hilton, in strengths from 12 mg to 24 mg, 'dark' juices like cappucino, coffee, and root bear, light juices like champaign, kiwi, apple, blackberry, etc. Most are 24 mg but I have PG and/or VG to dilute them, and for most but the tobacco ones, additional flavor to add to them if necessary. I haven't gotten any of Drew's HV juices yet. So, how should I start? Go with the 24 mg strength I usually vape on my 901, or cut the strength with VG for more vapor, or with PG? Should I try the 'reduced flavor', or kick in some additional Loran or Capella flavorings? Should I start with a tobacco juice, or darker juice, or a light, airy juice?

Unfortunately, I'll almost certainly need to work the next day, so I can't stay up all night vaping, so I'll probably only get to try one or two that night (and the second one will probably be Drew's Sleepy Time Green Tea Lung Juice to help me sleep when I want to be play with my new toy). I'll take any advice you can give me :D

It's very difficult to give advice on juices.
I'm vaping a ginger mint with a twist of lime at the moment at 10 mg nic @ 7.7 volts.
I really do think higher voltages need a lower nic content.

Drew's sleepy time green tea is good in small doses...you can't vape that for long, (unless you sleep vape!!).

I think Bickford's flavors are really top notch..I tried all others and threw them away.

Id say go with ur fav flavor, dilute a lil w/some glycerin and enjoy! I dilute 1/3 glycerin to 2/3 premixed juice. The sleepy time is an amazing flavor. reminds me of when I was young and my mom n I would sip it before bed, but dont worry it wont make u sleepy.lol...everything tastes better at 6v I think, and u just dont need a long draw to produce a thick vapor. i 2 sec draw will produce more than a 5-8 sec draw off 3.7v. My Lil Chuck produces almost the same vapor as my SB at 6v tho! Just a lil longer of a draw tho, no biggie IMO. I enjoy it, ;)

6v vaping remains a mystery to me, I've tried all kinds of juice concoctions including 0 nic, on both a 901 and 801 atty and the only taste I get is burnt (taking 2-3 sec draws and dripping, making sure the atty has enough juice). I've tried several times but I just don't like it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Luckily though I'm more than happy with how the Chuck vapes at 3.7v. :)

Thus far I've found LightHound and they ship as quick as Battery Junction but are only a little higher priced than DealExtreme.

Lighthound is excellent. If you're in the Houston area they even have a brick and mortar in Pearland. Almost next day shipping to Texas for the cost of USPS Priority Mail.

Yes Jackie , i promiss you are not using the correct parts.

I still do not understand how people vape a 801 atty with a 3.7 volt cell.
It's like running a Porsche engine on water.

I think everyones tastes are just different...I didnt taste burnt, but I was also using disposables. I had a few laying around that i bought and my camera had broke so i figured Id use the batts, but my rechargeables should be in any day. I sure hope they dont give a burnt taste tho...

May I ask if you were using dis or rech'ed? i still think taste is one of those things that everyone differs on, but at least if you were using rech's Ill know to watch for it....

I did however throw in 2 3.7s and that did tatste burnt...and fried an atty..oops lol

Have you tried cleaning out your attys w/ rubbing alcohol, any time mine start to taste burnt I soak them for about 1/2 hour and rinse and blow them out and rinse and blow them out. The next day they have no burnt taste. I haven't ruined one yet doing this, maybe it'll work for you.

I have that charger and YES!!! Its a battery's blessing wrapped in a little plastic box w a switch...
Im starting to notice battery holders w switches are becoming quite handy! :p

Also, I wonder what a Granny Smith Green Chuck with a blind embossed Thagbuilt.com on long side and The Chuck logo in the signatures, made round under the switch would look like? Black end caps...Hmmmm....

I don't use an 801 much at 3.7v, I got them mostly for 6v vaping as it seems they're quite popular for that. So what parts should I be using then? I have a 901 to 510 adapter but unfortunately it doesn't work with my Chuck.

May I ask if you were using dis or rech'ed? i still think taste is one of those things that everyone differs on, but at least if you were using rech's Ill know to watch for it....

I've used both, as my rechargeables didn't arrive quickly enough and I wanted to try 6v. :D

I used 2 brand new attys which I broke in slightly on 3.7v. Both were fine at that voltage.

Honestly it could just be that my taste buds don't like the higher voltage. I was a bit disappointed though (not in the Chuck, it rocks, but at my inability to enjoy 6v vaping). I don't know why, it's not like I don't enjoy my Chuck at 3.7v, I do immensely. I guess I was just a bit hyped about 6v and it didn't turn out how I expected. :)

Certainly won't stop me buying another Chuck though!

Just better! I have probably made a dozen changes and improvements in the last 2 months. All of them very minor and just simply improving things. A definate upside over a mass produced product. And I am still searching for a better switch. For those of you who were counting, the one used now is #8.

Thanks Jeff .. I want to get a little Chuck not sure what I want on it yet Im thinkin ... I think I want red and gold ... hummmm :)
