Didn't know where better to post this at... I have a smok ZMAX Telescoping mod. Of course it's my first mod, and I have 2 of them because they work great for me. I only use it in 650 mode, and would have gotten an non-telescoping version had the local B&M shop had one. The only downside on using it is the telescoping part - it is too easy to screw in and out. If I screw it to be snug it can dent in the bottom of the battery, so I turn it 1 full turn right after the led lights up.

I think if this thing came with threaded bushings to go inside the telescoping handle which prevented it from being tightened too much would have been okay. Even better would have been additional telescoping adapters, one for each battery mode, that would either stop from over tightening or lock in place somehow...but then it would no longer be a telescoping mod. I even think if there were small grooves going around the battery compartment where a rubber grommet could sit for each mode, which would prevent from being over tightened, would have been a plus.

But I wanted to ask if anyone else has ran into this issue, and what they have done which prevents the mod from telescoping so easily?

I own several telescopic mods, VV and mechanical, I never run into that issue, although you are right to be careful, it seems to me you are being overcautious screw it snug and leave it there. What I do is I screw it in until the spring is fully compressed (it wont turn anymore) and then release a couple turns, little dents in the battery doesn't mean anything other than cosmetic.
