I now have 3 Provaris 2.5. One I use daily. The other two I bought recently as insurance against the upcoming regs at the sale price of $34.99 each. I saw on the Provape website that they advise putting silica in their box. But I wondered what was the best way to store them for possibly several years: 1. Should i pack them in a plastic bag or at room temperature in their box? 2. Is it advisable to use them occasionally or will they be okay packed away possibly for years.

Here is their response: "The silica packets will definitely keep any moisture out of the ProVari while it is being stored. The other important thing to keep in mind is to not store a battery in your ProVari. Storing them at room temperature in their box with a silica packet is all you really need. If you don't have a silica packet available, just take them out every 6 months or so and give them a cleaning to remove any oxidation that may have formed. Following these steps should allow you to store them pretty much indefinitely."

I've bought some used ProVari's that were used hard and put away wet, as in, they were used with catomizers and not cleaned before being stored for a year or more before being sold. They took a bit of cleaning up, and needed the center pins in the 510 to be polished with some Never Dull to get rid of the verdigris on the brass, but they fired right up and perform flawlessly, each and every one. If you have ac and you keep your house from getting too humid in the summertime, they should be fine in a box, silica packs are a nice touch but not really a necessity. These things were built and torture tested to withstand every day life and exposure to the environment we live and play in. Of course, a safe might not be a bad idea if you have a bunch of them...

I live in Florida so of course AC is a necessity. Lol. And you're right about them being torture tested. Our summertime temps are in the mid-90s so I was careful to keep tracking my provari delivery so it wouldn't stay in the mail box too long and overheat. Well, package arrived a day earlier than tracking stated and by the time I got the package out of the mailbox it was 110 degrees IN the mailbox and the device was too hot to hold. I took the bottom off the Provari and let it cool before testing it. It was fine. I emailed Provape to ask about anything else I should be looking for and they said they actually subject these things to freezing weather and temps in the 120s and not to worry about it. :)

I keep mine in a steel ammo box I got at a flea market with a bunch of little silica packs. I use silica packs from beef jerky, shoes, purses, etc. Just the free ones, nothing fancy. Toronto is very dry in the winter and even thought it is humid as hell in the summer, AC keeps the house pretty dry. I don't have much concern that my Provaris will be bothered by moisture.

I have 12 Provaris and 6-7 are in storage at any given time. Every month or two, I rotate them. Funny enough, today I packed away my wife's 2 wrapped 2.5's and my silver P3 and white 2.5 that have been in constant use for for 6-8 weeks and pulled out a couple of 2.5's for her and my GMZ 2.5 and a black Classic for me. Even though I own a dozen, I would expect none of them ever sit for more than a couple of months. I think this may help them stay in top shape as I maintain them before packing them away.

I am a big fan of rotating thru every mod I own regularly (I have about 20 total). Even pulled out my iStick 40 and my wife's iStick 30 today and we are both using them along with the Provaris.

Tonight I have been using a five year old ProVari, it still hits like a champ :)

So with the mini 2.5 it says 4-6 volts. What's the limit on that Amps? I can't see. What's the minimum resistance ? I dot. Usually go over five volts but I sometimes build .8. I'm guessing it's 1 ohm or more ?

How does the size compare with the p3 in 18350 not using the p3 connection and weight ? $46 with 490 tube is not bad at all if I can make it meet my needs and the power delivery is as good. Aside from the p3 taking bigger batteries and including extensions. What are he side by side differences. If this is small enough with 350 it may be great to use as my daily beater

Doesn't look like it
Does boost. Dimensions are 3.48"X.9" 3.8 oz

I need to find p3 dimensions in 18350 mode. No
Boost is a bummer. And I don't see the specs on coils it will take.

I see this on their white paper
http://www.provape.com/v/images/ProVariV1vsV2.pdf

When reviewing the table it is seen that the V1 has a hard guaranteed current limit of 2.5 amps over the entire output voltage range. What is done with the V2 upgrade is allow the output to be adjusted down to 2.9 volts and increase the output current to 3.5 amps over the output voltage range of 2.9 volts to 4.2 volts inclusive. Above 4.2 volts the output current limit varies to provide an output power limit of 14.5 watts. This was done to allow the unit to work better with low resistance atomizers.

This would indicate that ou can run at 4.2 volts but not past 3.5 amps. At that rate the limit
Would be something like a 1.3 ohm coil - mental
Rounding.

A 2.5 Mini is very close in size to a P3 in 18350 mode as is a 2.5 (or mini with extension cap) vs a P3 in 18500 mode and a 2.5 with extension cap vs. 18650 P3.

The P3 top makes the 2.5 a bit smaller as the top is smaller than the tapered one.

Let me know if you want any specific side by side pics as I own all of them (P3, Classic, 2.5 with and without extensions and in P3 and tapered, etc.)

I always run mine at 4.7-4.9v and 1.7-1.9ohms, so can't be much help with the other questions.

I used to play around with coils at the 1.2-1.4Ω range with my V2's, they will do ok there, mostly I stick to 1.6-2.2 Ω range and think that there is where the sweet spot is for the device. You've got more room to adjust up and down without getting any errors, and the batteries seem to last longer in that range. You can get some of them to fire down to 1.1 or so, but you'll be pretty limited in where it will fire volts wise.

What type of Finish is on the Provari's you want to Store?

If it was a Stainless Steel Provari, I would give it a good Rub Down with Clean, Soft Cloth with a couple Drops of Quality Oil. Then loosely wrap the Provari in the Cloth and put it in a Cigar Box.

If it was that Powder Coated\Baked On finish, I'd probably do the Same Thing. Only I would use High Quality Carnauba Wax.
