how to tell when battery needs to be charged?

That depends on how low you plan to build your coils, if you're going to use it to read resistance. I don't vape below 0.7 so I'm comfortable with accuracy in the tenths. I personally use a Cen-Tech Digital Multimeter that I picked up from Harbor Freight for about $4. I just make sure to re-check the internal resistance of the leads every time I read something. For voltage, pretty much anything will do.

If you're using clearo coils on a mech, you should be safe as far as resistance. It might be overkill, but I'd check the resistance of any new head after installation, before firing, just to be safe. I had a factory protank coil short and kill an ego battery, a lead was poking through the rubber.

ill probably do that. im just curious how long these batteries are supposed to last, maybe its because theres nothing getting in the way of any of the power like on egos? 3 days on one charge now. im going to charge it tonight though because i know i wont get a chance to charge it tomorrow and i dont want to run out in the middle of a long shift
