Actually I was looking for a way to remove threads completely from refreshing to the top of the pile (there are some games and other VERY active threads) under MY POSTS.
But... now, thanks to some replies, I have found a way to kind of by pass looking there for new posts. As an eg. I don't want to play 'why the last poster must be banned',or read about the last lava tank sale, or so-and-so's box mod etc. etc. Also, one Provari is more than enough for me :). (And just because I posted once or 10X in a thread, doesn't necessarily mean I want to read about if for ever and ever - till death do us part!).

How about going to the bothersome thread, and then selecting UNSUBSCRIBE under THREAD TOOLS? I've never seen these POP-UPS, I wonder if there is a setting in your account settings to get rid of them??

dragon, there is hope! i, too, navigate ecf through ''my posts''
and once you stop posting in the threads you are no longer interested in they will drop off eventually! the bad part is there is no consistency! i had some drop off after a mere 3 weeks, others hung in there for over 2 or 3 months! but all do drop off ''my posts'' at some time or other!
    patience and good luck!

Thanks tiburon. But are you sure those threads are still active? I too have plenty threads that no longer pop up in my posts, but that is because they have died.
Like I said, my problem is some VERY active threads from the modder's forum that have daily posts and are many, many, many pages long. Also, a game. They just never want to go away and leave me in peace. That is why I wondered what the cut off page or post count is on this forum. Seems like there is none. They just go on and on forever. Except for classifieds or when a mod closes a thread when someone is complaining to a bad supplier or mentions CC fraud, stuff like that.

rest assured - even active threads pop off. i ventured out to congratulate people in the reonaut and bwb thread - those threads are still going strong!!!!! :D but are no longer showing up in ''my posts''

Good news indeed. How long did that take though, because a couple of these threads I haven't commented in for several months now?

the reason could be you dont have enough posts so it is easier to be seeing all your posts in there
???? There are pages and pages of threads I've posted in lol. (OK, only 6 pages :p) Maybe not 4620 posts, but enough for the many different threads I've posted in to scan many pages. But maybe you don't understand what I said? I said that every time someone posts in those threads they jump to the TOP, ie. I see them active and blue at the top almost every single day, sometimes all day, like when a new lava tank batch is coming out (for eg.).
Anyway, thanks everyone for your help and I haven't given up hope that they will eventually go away, but I'm not holding my breath. As far as I can see, threads just cannot be unsubscribed from completely - not under MY Posts anyway. End of story.

P.S. One of the threads has 1378 pages and 55'078 replies, another one has 35 pages and
1398 replies, stuff like that.... Now work out how many times those threads are at the TOP of my list. Personally I think 1378 pages is WAAAAAAYYYYY to long!

dragon i think they were alluding to the amount of threads listed in your my posts search.

from the bottom of my search page:
    Results 1 to 25 of 709
I know, I was just teasing the OP about the THOUSANDS of posts, I obviously just don't have so many thousand of opinions, or maybe because this isn't the only forum I hang out on. Actually I try to avoid ECF due to me getting the spendy itch lol. Actually that is one of the reasons the lava tank and crimson box mod threads (to name just a few) bother me. I DON'T want to be tempted to buy unnecessary things. I would prefer to forget that I ever heard of them and ever posted there :D.

    dragonbone,

My oldest comment in a thread is 9/27/11 in the new post listing. If you run your mouse over the envelope on the left of the thread listing, it tells you when your last post was and how many you made.. I have a feeling they purge the reply field every now and then and the last time was late Sept.

It makes me nuts too and I've tried all the settings to eliminate a few.

If you subscribe to a thread but don't post in it, will it still show up on your my post list? I was trying to do this in a contest announcement thread that was closed, but it so far hasn't shown up in my New Post list. I guess I too should start using the subscribed list instead. The My Post is just so convenient on the front page. How about a new subscribed list button on the front page? Does that exist?

Answer myself: Yes under quick links there is a subscribed thread list in the drop down. I'm going to make better use of that now.

Thanks juicejunky. I was starting to wonder if I was crazy or something. I haven't been able to check my last post on threads (the usual way) since I asked this question a few days ago, due to the fact that I'm on my iPad. Laptop in for repairs. Anyway, I got motivated after your post and found that I can search IN the thread. I just typed dragonbone (in my case) in the drop down search box and voila, all my posts showed. Last one was 2nd November 2011!

    gone
New tidbit. If I go to recent posts under my profile, my last post matches that 9/27/11 date. I checked a few other people's too and they all cut off around 1000 posts.

My conclusion is that chatty people get theirs knocked off earlier since it goes back ~1000 posts.

You better post more or those "New Post" threads will haunt you forever. At 130 posts per year, they should drop off some time in 2017. :D

Lol!!! Are you saying that I need to have 1000 posts before the active threads stop refreshing in MY POSTS? Don't know what on earth I will find to blab on about and where to find the time and energy....
    But even if I did.....
Where is the connection? I don't see it. Another thing is that you have more thank a 1000 posts, so why isn't it working for you :p?
