How well does your ViVi Mini Nova fit?

I just got a ViVi Mini Nova tank (which I love, by the way), but if I tighten it down on the battery to where it feels secure, it doesn't work. If I leave it a little loose, everything is fine. I've tried it on an eGo-C Twist and a Provari and it's the same on both. It's like the stem that contacts the battery is too long.

I've heard that was an issue with some of the first standard Nova tanks but it got fixed. Has anyone else experienced this on a mini, or did I just get a bad one?

Air flow is fine. It doesn't fire.

I don't understand that. It should have less electrical contact if you loosen it up, not more.

My mini nova works fine on my provari, it was my SS Vtube with it's spring loaded center pin that I ran into a problem. (no air flow without an extension or a bit of modding)

    You have a bad one...

    I have a twist-- 2 nova 2.5 work fine...one is a slight off center...

    A mini works fine...

Unless you are cranking it all the way down and overtightening... I don't... If you are that's the issue. I put it on till it just starts to tighten, then give it a bit more... There's probably a thread more it can go, that would be too much. Also, the threads are not cheap but they are not machine steel so you'll wear them out loosening and cleaning and refilling if you jam it to the bottom.

Doesn't make sense to me either. Wild guess:

Make sure the coil thing on top is screwed on tightly enough. You can take the top silicone cap off, use a flat (regular) screwdriver and give it a twist... not hard... just snug.

If the coil connector doesn't connect to the post properly it wiggles. Don't know why it would not connect if tight on the PV ... unless the PV disconnects the contacts if squished. If that's true, if you screw on any other thing too tight, it would do that too.

EDIT: Does the silicone gasket look OK when looking at the bottom?

Mine would probably damage things if I tightened it on all the way. I haven't tried.

On an Ego or Kgo I use a cone skirt designed for a 3.5ml DCT to solve the loose problem. Just put the Vivi Nova on your device and then loosen the cone skirt so it tightens against the base of the tank. Problem solved. Hope this helps.

Dito. I use the curvey one designed for the larger DCTs, and it looks great. You can get them from vapor kings, gotvapes, and probably some other places as well.

I put the thread cover all the way on, then tighten the vivi nova just 'till it stops with basically no force, back the thread cover up 'till it just touches the bottom of the tank, and then tighten them together. Never had a problem with it not firing, which means it's making a good contact. And it feels very solid. Been using it like that for a couple weeks.

I did read something about the center post being adjustable in the vivi nova, and my v2 is not the least bit adjustable by any means I can find. So, I use it like this and it works.

Basically, I think Vision got their specs for the 510 connector wrong, machine a :censored: ton of them and didn't bother fixing it. I really don't think it's an amazing design, but it vapes really well (after the heads break in).

This same thing happens with the large one, and mine is a v2.5. I use a screwdriver and indeed, I have the same problem, but ive gotten used to it.

My mini adjusted so it's just fine. It doesn't sit flush with my thread cover skirt thing, but I usually just back it up the same with the big one (which is a V2 and does not appear to have an adjustable center post) and use it to adjust the draw.

I really like the mini. The only downside is that the tube seems a lot worse made. I have questions about how long the threads in the plastic are going to last. But until it dies, it's a really great vape. And there are replacements available.

There was an issue with the some of them having the center pins either uneven or too long making for the wiggle. If you tighten it too much , you dont get enough airflow on some. A lot depends on the configuration of the 510 connection on your PV. I saw another post on the modding section that says you can file down the 510 connection and it helps.
Another problem you might run into is that once you put your nova on a battery like the ego or kgo the vivi pushes down the center pin on your battery causing it not to work with other 510 accessories. This is fixed by using a jewelers flat head and pulling up the pin, just make sure that the connections arent touching the outer sides of battery thread. The inside pin is either the negative and outer one is the positive ( i may have that crossed, but dont ever let these contacts touch. I hope this helps some of the problems.
Another little mod, also depending on how your MOD or battery 510 connection is if you want more airflow, make the vents larger, either with a small dremmel tool or small pair of scissors and sort of spin it and scrape the hole a tad bigger. It will get you great clouds of vapor and better taste.
