Out of 5 you actually left out cost!
or maybe #1 "good setup" accounts for that.
Still when cost is a major factor hardly anybody is going to spend on somebody else's idea of what constitutes a 'good setup' until they've crossed over the line with something much more affordable.

A good setup can be had for under $75, specifically an MVP, juice, and carto/clearo. This is a setup that will deliver a decent vape with minimal investment and is widely available. I personally use a Hana V3 and kayfun (together about $300), but I wouldn't recommend nor mention this to a beginner. Many of the lingo and tinkers we learn along the way are TMI for the newly initiated and will lead to frustration. If you rebuild, you could be considered an amateur engineer, chemist, physicist, and electrician :p .

Depending on where you live, this can amount to roughly a week's worth of cigarettes for a pack a day smoker. If they smoke five less per day due to use, it will take only about a month to break even. Very funny to hear someone who smokes complain they don't have money, especially when a pack a day can mean $300 a month. I don't disagree that one could use this as an excuse, but in the grand scheme of things, a good setup doesn't have to be an expensive setup.

Vaping while smoking makes it much harder to quit, while people still have the option to smoke they will smoke.
In his case it sounds like he doesn't want to quit smoking and thats the main problem.

I think there is a mix-up between wanting to smoke and wanting to quit. These are not mutually exclusive. Most smokers want to quit, and most smokers enjoy smoking.

I always recommend to people NOT to quit when starting out vaping. People will end up consuming the same amount of nicotine, but spread it over the two, meaning the smoke less and gradually go to all vape when they are ready. Certainly some people can go cold turkey, but its not good to put pressure on people, but instead let them enjoy the ride. If their setup is correct, they will not want to smoke in the first place.

I've gone back and tried a couple cigarettes in the past year. I don't miss it, in fact its extremely gross. Perhaps a fair comparison is licking a tootsie pop and licking a muffler :)

we have two friends that fell off the vaping wagon to ciggies, one if they have the funds, then you do nothing, until the price of our behavior becomes too great, we don't change.

one didn't have the funds she's battling breast cancer for the second time, we gave her an MVP and a Aerotank (P2w/air control flow valve) and hear tell she's not really using it completely getting off the smokes, but she's using it (and her hubby too)

so given that knowledge give him one and then expect nothing if you want or can, if not well you know how change happens, especially with addictions. :)

take care Mama!! (I'm kinda the "Mama" of our lil group too I "get it" ) :)

I still smoked when I started vaping. Almost two packs a day to five cigs a day. Kept tapering off. Finally gave them up three weeks ago tomorrow. But as said earlier, they gotta wanna quit.
