My wife thought it was silly to be honest. And I wasnt trying to convince her of anything or even get her to quit. I figired she would quit when and if she was ready. She had no intentions on quitting the stinkies either, at a pack and a half a day of roll your owns.
I asked her if she would go for a ride with me one Saturday afternoon to the nearest brick and mortar store . It is an hour away. We made it a day thing and invited my brother (who is a vaper) and his wife to go along with us. There are two vapor shops in the city we were going to visit, along with stores that the girls really wanted to visit. So we intended to hit both shops while we were there.
The first stop, my wife made comment of all the delicious looking flavors and that I should get something that she could try just for the heck of it, so I told her I would be more than happy to buy her her own complete setup if she would like. She declined saying that she wouldn't use it enough to warrant it. Then at the hardware counter she noticed that they had different colors in the little ego passthroughs. I offered again to buy for her, while trying to convince her that it would be great at work cause she could vape inside when she didn't want to go outside when it was below freezing. Never mentioning anything to her about quitting smoking.
She still felt it would be alot of work to maintain the equipment, and I told her " I will take care of it for you and make sure it always works when you want it". She was actually pretty excited to get the setup, a nice 650 mah PINK ego passthrough with a vision ce4 clearomizer and about six liquids that "looked tasty". We purchased the kits and proceeded to the next vape shop.
On the way across town, my brothers wife wanted to "try it" as the curiosity was killing her. She seemed to like it as well, so When we arrived at the next shop she was ready to get a kit for herself as well. So my brother bought her a kit to "play" with and see what might come from it.
Well ,the entire rest of the day consisted of a cloud filled vehicle reminiscent of a cheech and chong film, and everyone got completely overnicced. Which I think was a good thing, cause the girls finally said "uncle" and couldn't vape any more for a while, and that showed them that it really could replace the cigarettes.
Never once did I say anything to my wife about quitting or laying off the cigs. Over the course of the next three days, she started to smoke less and less, and on the fourth day she proclaimed " I havent had a cigarette in over 24 hours, Can you believe it?" My comment to her, "Wow thats fantastic. And you weren't even trying to quit were you?" (hehehe).
My wife has not had a cigarette for over three weeks now and I dont see her going back. She is actually talking about having "Vape Parties" this summer where everyone brings a bunch of juices, and possibly going to some Vapemeets as a weekend get-away..
Yup, shes hooked too. Oh Lord what have I created. hahhahahahaha .
Give it time and don't push it, same philosophy I had raising my children. The more you push someone , the more defiant they will be.
