Howdy ECF, I'm a new member but have been using this site as my main source of info into vaping for a several months now. I started with a Kanger starter kit and have since upgraded to vw devices. I have to thank all of you for the wonderfully informational site you have compiled and moderated. Recently went from my smok Groove II to an itaste 134, but decided not to use the 134 anymore until my vtc4's come in the mail. So, I left the 134 at home and came to work with nothing but my Groove... maybe was a bad idea.

I was going to post this in tech help, but even with my 5 posts I can't post there yet. I'd rather not clutter up with random posts to hit 15 or 20 or whatever, so thought I'd try asking here and if I don't get any good answers maybe have enough posts to throw it in tech help in a day or two, but I'm really hoping someone can help me asap.

The groove worked fine yesterday, nothing changed, didn't even change the tank on it. Turned it off, it sat overnight, and this morning I thought it wouldn't come on. Clicked away on the button and no screen 'smok power on' etc. Randomly held the button and heard the coil popping. The device is firing, just the screen has failed me. So, I can't check my ohms, can't tell what wattage I'm vaping at, etc. Anyone ever had or heard of this problem and may know a fix I can pull off while stuck at work? I think I'll be vaping blindly until then or until I make it home to my evods or the gf's mvp.

Wow, nobody gave these things a chance after the 1st Groove and it's splody tendencies huh? I picked it over the MVP for the higher mah rating and the simple fact that I don't need my pv to charge my phone. Also, the mvp seems a little small in my hands.

Anyway, howdy again to all of you, and thanks again for having so much awesome info for me to lurk through.

First off you don't need to use a Sony VTC battery in the iTaste 134. That is a bit overkill. A AW IMR battery will work just fine.

As to the screen I have no idea if it somehow got turned off, how you would turn it back on or if it is broken.

Time to forget about volts and watts and just set it to whatever gives you the vape you are looking for. To high a wattage and you'll know it. To low a wattage and you'll know it. Raise or lower the wattage to suit your needs.

Eh, the vtc's aren't just for the 134, I'm getting into mechs at the moment and gonna try out rda/rba stuff soon too. I just don't trust the trustfire I was using that came with it (I'm an ebayer, everything used). I've been using the groove today anyway, you're right, I can tell when it's too high/low. Just not an easy adjustment if I switch my tanks and have a different flavor I like at different watts. I'll keep tinkering with it after I get home and see if I can get the screen to come back to life.

Went looking for the instruction manual for the Groove. Maybe try this?

FORCED RESET FEATURE: If you are experiencing abnormal behavior simply press the S1(the "-" button) and the S3 (fire button on top) together for ten seconds, when you see the SMOK letterign coem up you have successfully reset the mod.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Freakin awesome man, worked. First time I've seen the screen light up all day. The SMOK lettering didn't come up, scrolled something like v1.1 and turned off, then I just had to turn it back on and its working awesome!
