Howdy everyone! Especially to @roxynoodle, @qorax, and @sedge whose posts have always stood out as memorable and helpful. Y'all have helped me choose attys, learn how to build coils, and a gazillion other vape related things I thank you for. Appreciation extends to a whole lot more ECF members than mentioned by name. Fantastic forum!

I was a 2-pack/day menthol smoker for 30ish years. Quit quite a few times. Never for long. Until I started vaping. Been about 2 years ago now, and it has literally saved my life (after a major heart attack a few years ago tried "cigalikes", then went back to smoking. Until the day the warning symptoms of another heart attack began again, that day I knew I HAD to quit smoking if I wanted to live -- so off to the local B&M I went)

Started with the usual: Clearomizer EGO style setup. A couple weeks in had no more urge to smoke, and even the thought of lighting up a real cig nauseated me! Then I started craving MORE POWER... Upgraded to Innokin ITaste-VV and Aspire Nautilus. Wow, huge improvement! vaping was even more enjoyable. And cost effective. UNTIL those Nautilus BVC coils that had been lasting a MONTH on average, suddenly started lasting only a WEEK if I was lucky. Hmmm... Getting into rebuildables seemed the most logical path after realizing what a major pita rebuilding those BVCs would be. That's when I really started hitting ECF as a lurker... Coils, resistance, ohms, cotton, OC, rayon... Oh my!! Totally overwhelming at first.

This forum has been invaluable during that journey. vaping now as much a hobby as a smoking alternative. Coiling and wicking have become my "meditation", relaxation, moments of Zen ;-)

And my atty collection keeps growing as attys keep mysteriously falling into my online shopping carts . Figuring out the best coil and wicking styles for each new one is... A Fun Challenge?

Didn't mean to write such a long intro! LOL. So..... Hi everyone ;)

Thanks @TheVapingKitty !

Say, I've got a couple clones (RTAs and an RDA) I'd like to "Gift away" as my first acts of giving back to this community -- Where would be the best place to post them being a new member with limited privileges atm?
Welcome to the forum! To answer your question, once you get freed of the New Members section, you can browse over to the Pay It Forward thread if you've got stuff you'd like to pass on to other members:

Thanks for that link @K_Tech -- will use it for a few misc attys collecting dust. For now, decided to gift it to a member in the Gem clone thread who'd replied quickly. Seemed fair to keep my word there that if anyone wanted it, blah blah blah...

Welcome! You made my day :)
Dang. And I wasn't even doing my Clint Eastwood impersonation. Hehehe.
But seriously I am glad if it made your day. You deserve it @roxynoodle . All the help and stuff you've given members. (and former lurkers who benefited from your posts. cough cough)

Welcome aboard and do not apologise for the length of your post - it will give hope and encouragement to others.
I hope so! Tell ya what, my DOCTOR loves that he never sees me without some vape gear clenched in my hand -- he hopes anyone who sees it and asks about it, who maybe was never able to quit smoking before with other quitting methods -- just might be interested enough to give it a go.

Amusing and sad commentary on the state of things vape-related: Doctors have no problem recommending over-the-counter vitamins and such, right? But they won't even dare tiptoe around suggesting a patient might want to try vaping as a smoking alternative. Even doctors like mine who support it, won't dare go there. Too flammable a topic as "powers that be" try to decide/legislate what and how best they should control and/or benefit from it.
