Around the Middle of July, My wife and I were spending some quality time together ( Wink_Wink ) and I got very short of breath and had a painful tightness in my chest, I thought I was Having a Heart Attack, After a few nights in the hospital and a heart Cath, I'm now the not so proud owner of 3 heart Stents, and Heart Disease.

My Dr. said that I hadn't had a Heart attack, but had been a ticking time-bomb that could have went off at any time, so since my scare I have made several changes in my life to make my self healthier but the hardest was quitting smoking.

I had played around with E-cigs for the last year or so but they just didn't do it for me, I had even bought an Ego kit( non-twist ) for my wife and I on valentines day this year hoping we could give it a go together, but that didn't work either.

But after my scare I was determined to give them up, A new E-cig shop had just opened here in Bryan,Tx ( Aggieland Vapors ) and after talking to Amber and Wendy ( 2 sweet and very knowledgeable ladies that work there ) for awhile, I purchased a smoktech winder and a EVOD tank and haven't looked back.

I had my last analog Aug 7th , I feel better then I have in Years, I have Changed my Diet and have started a exercise program.

My sweet spot for now is 4.4 volts on a 2.5 ohm coil and since finding that spot it made quitting MUCH easier.

I will be asking a lot of questions in the near future and excepting all friend requests, in the hopes of learning all I can about you all and E-cigs in general.

( I'm turning into a VapeGeek fast, gotta know as much as I can, as fast as I can )

Happy Vapper in Aggieland.

**checks schedule board**

If you're movin' in, your day to vacuum and mop the floors is next Friday. Coffee needs to be made not later than 0500 hours for the day shift and depending on the mess the rest of the crowd leaves this week, you may be needed for weeds and seeds over the weekend.

Welcome to ECF!

No Problem, and by 0500 I'm already on my 2nd cup, I'm a hard worker and I will try not to let ya down.

I did it the other way 'round! I quit smoking... and had the heart attack a year later. Serious cholesterol problems in the family line.

Glad you got it sorted out, and had the sense about you to get it checked out. Amazing how your priorities can change after having an experience like that.

Glad you found hardware that works for you. Welcome!

P.S.: What's your GP or Cardiologist's take on vaping?

Welcome to ecf. Do ya cook too? I think there is a position open somewhere in the kitchen. LOL

When I started ecigs, vv had not been invented yet. Was one of the first in line to buy em tho.

Glad you are feeling better. And it only gets better from here. You will be surprised at how your tastes will improve and change over the next year or so. And increase your liquid intake. Ecigs dry you out big time. Dehydration is no fun and is very serious health wise.

glad you found us.
:)

He says that as long as I cut back my Nic to as low a level as I can handle, he wont yell at me at all, he thinks that vaping is a much healthier alternative to analogs and the only problem for me is that Nic is a Stimulant, and he would rather I try to stay from whatever stimulants I can.

But I told him, If he had said I need to give up coffee, I was going to get a 2nd opinion.

I always have a Glass of sweet tea, lemonade or water not far away, I Had kidney stones a few years ago all because I didn't drink enough fluids. Never again do I want to go through that.

You got a good one.

The take I got on it, even using 24 mg liquids, is the amount of nicotine I'm taking in isn't considered medically relevant. I asked to have those tests done do check my nic levels, because I'm curious, and they refused - didn't consider it important enough to spend the money on it. Of course, YMMV depending on your overall condition(s). The bottom line is my MD's have big issues about what smoking does to you, they don't see any issues with vaping - especially if it keeps you off smoking.
