Hello & Welcome @SunflowerMama!:)

If your eliquid contains nicotine, you need to reduce it by at least 50% as compared to what you are using in the nautilus. This holds true for all subΩ clearomizers/rda's/RTA's.

Hey! Thank you for the advice! I'm going to pick up a couple low nic or maybe some 0mg and try it out again! I had read a little about that but I wasn't sure it would make that huge of a difference. I'll definitely do that now! Thank you!

Hi @SunflowerMama and welcome to ECF!

You'll like the MPV - it's highly thought of here. I have an iStick 50W, and haven't had any problems with it, but definitely sympathize with you on the concerns. It seems to be hit or miss on whether you get a good one or not. I hear that they have taken steps to correct some of the issues, but the biggest concern I have with them is getting juice leaks into the battery portion. That could be the root cause of all the problems.

Anyway, wanted to welcome you to the forum.

Happy Vaping!
Thanks! I'm excited to try out the MVP. I have tiny hands so I'm hoping it doesn't feel huge to me! Lol
It's so crazy that it's hit or miss! Mine has been perfect so far, not a single problem. It's just got me so paranoid! I'm so glad to hear they have been working out the kinks. The juice leak thing would make a lot of sense!
Thank you so much for the welcome!

Hey!
Greetings what susan said about the nicotine strength in subtanks is very true. I use 3 mg in mine, I was using 6mg in other tanks. What coils are you using in the subtank though? They make .5 and 1.2 ohm coils for that. 1.2 can be used with less airflow at lower wattage and slightly higher nic, .5 coils needd airflow open and low nic running from 15 to 25 watts. Difference between mouth to lung hits and deeply inhaled lung hits.
Thanks for the welcome! I'm definitely going to try the lower nicotine and see how it goes. I have both the .5 and the 1.2 ohm and tried both with the same result, obviously a little more tolerable with the 1.2. I'm a mouth to lung hit chick. I had a local vape shop guy tell me to try and inhale direct to lung and that did help a bit. Maybe that and the low nic will make it usable! Thanks for all the advice!

Hi and welcome to the board. I think you will be very pleased with your MVP; it's solid gear from a good manufacturer. Regarding the iStick 50, it seems to me their problem is/was quality control rather than anything wrong with the design. Most of 'em work just fine. Others, not so much. No matter, now you've ordered the MVP. I suspect it'll quickly become your go-to machine.
Thanks for the welcome! I'm so glad that most of the isticks are not having that issue. Mine has been great so far, not a single issue so I'm hoping it stays that way. I only charge it when I'm awake and can see it and that makes me feel a little better. I read a few people put theirs in the oven overnight just in case it explodes. Haha I thought that was wild!
I'm excited to try out the MVP. Seems to have great reviews! Here's hoping! And thanks again for the welcome!

hello sunflowermama
im currently using a istick 50w and have 2 subtank minis
i was also coughing when i first time i used it but eventually got used to it wasnt a big deal
but i did notice that pg was making me a bit sick so max vg all the way now
i came from a mvp 2.0 and a kanger protank 2 lol
Thanks for the welcome! I definitely learned as well that I do sooooooo much better with VG! The higher percentage the better! It's crazy how much of a difference that makes! Sounds like you've got a great setup going for you! Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it! :)

Hi Sunflowermama. When you vape, do you do mouth to lung inhales or direct to lung? I was the same way when I was using Nautilus Minis and got my first Subtank Mini. Hated the Subtank and put it aside. About a month later, after I taught myself how to do lung hits, I picked up the Subtank Mini again and the difference was night and day. Now I exclusively use subohm tanks with the Subtank Mini, Atlantis 1 and 2's, and I have the Triton and Freemax Starre Pro on preorder. Now it is my Nautilus Minis collecting dust. I also reduced my nicotine quite a bit when I switched to subohm tanks. On the Nautilus Minis, I was vaping 15-18 mg and when I started subohming, I dropped down to 6 mg.
Hey! Thanks for the welcome and advice! I'm a mouth to lung inhaler normally! A local vape shop guy actually suggested the straight to lung hit for the Kanger tank and I noticed it did make a big difference. I'm currently vaping 18mg so that makes a lot of sense. Do you enjoy the sub ohm vaping a lot more? How much of a difference do those tanks and the sub ohm coils make in your experience? Just curious and thanks so much again for the advice!

Once I got used to lung hits, I much prefer subohm tanks because of the better flavor and the larger amount of vapor production. I wouldn't necessarily coin myself a cloud chaser (I'm more of a mod whomper), but that large volume of vapor makes a nice substitute for throat hit (since I am using a lower nic level and I tend to go with VG heavy juices). The funny thing is since I've been doing lung hits, it seems really weird when I try to do a mouth to lung hit now.

One other thing, if the Subtank Mini seems to "hit hard" and is too warm for you, I definitely suggest trying the Aspire Atlantis (or the new Triton). In my experience, Aspire tanks definitely vape a lot cooler than the Subtank. I currently have 4 Subtank Minis, an Atlantis 1 and 3 Atlantis 2's.

Cool! Just out of curiosity, what have you moved onto now?

Many different RDAs and Drippers - I moved away from the pre-built coils ro RDAs. As for Drippers: Many Vicious Ant devices, a Vaponaute Le Magister, Quasar, Anima and so on. As for tanks I learned to love Golden Greek devices, but own some of the typical RDAs as well (Taifun GT, Flash-e-vapor, Squape etc.) - so I have a kind of comparison. I think it's best to get yourself a relatively "easy" RDA if you want to start building your own coils. I think the Flash-e-vapor is super-practical and forgives many mistakes. It was my first RDA and I found it quite easy back then. Or a GG Tilemahos (very easy to build, magnificent vape - and easy for beginners). There are just two attys/tanks I would never buy again (just personal opinion): Kayfun and Loki.

Cheers,
Turgut

The key number to watch is the wattage.
If you vape 12mg at 10 watts on one device,
then you'll need 6mg on a device or coil that works at 20 watts.
If you double the wattage, you need to half the nicotine milligram strength to compensate.

Hey and thanks to the others who welcomed me! Sorry I hadn't checked this in a while. So I got some 3mg juice and tried it in the Kanger sub tank plus and used a straight lung hit and it worked and I didn't die. Lol Make a much bigger denser cloud too which was cool but kind of scary. I thought I don't think this is natural or normal... what if my lung gives out? I know that is silly and not true just a crazy paranoid thought lol. I noticed much less flavor on the same juice than I get from the Nautilus Mini or regular Nautilus. At least I know now I am capable of it but for now I'm still liking the Nautilus better. Only thing is I'm going through coils pretty fast due to high VG juice. I'm sensitive to PG. I may try just a little more PG and see if that helps. I know VG is thicker so it effects how fast the coils wick. Thanks again guys!
