Saying one is better than the other is really going to be up to you. I have not tried the ego-t but I do have an Echo (they had to change the name to HS Echo). The echo comes as a manual in 510 threads and automatic in 808 threads. I have the auto and love it. I started with an 808 so all my old cartos work with the auto. I got mine in June and gave the wife the 808, she now wants an Echo. There are advantages and disadvantages of both pv's that you are looking at. Check out the Echo thread (it's going to be a lot of reading but worth it.)

I own two eGo-Ts...both with the 1000 Mah batteries. I can tell you that there have been several complaints about the Ts leaking. I have yet to experience any leakage at all on mine though after about a week and a half, all is good. It comes down to preference. You have to decide what will work best for you after careful consideration and research.

Echo Pro's:
  • Easy to Fill
  • Holds a lot of juice
  • Excellent flavor
  • Auto Battery
  • Long lasting battery vs. 808's

Echo Negatives:
  • Takes a long time to charge
  • Tip falls off in pocket
  • Not as many options as an eGo
  • Airy draw

I use both the Echo and the eGo's.
I really like the taste I get from the Echo Carto's, they hold a lot of juice and can be refilled many, many times. But there are less options with the 808 connection. (Try the Vortex/G4)
I've been using the eGo's more lately, mostly with the CE2's even though they're a bit of a pain to fill. I think I've been using them more because I can use the CE2's, the type A tanks, the type B tanks, and other types of juice delivery systems.
I was disappointed in the flavor from the Type A standard resistance tank attys.
The Type B atty/tanks did have better flavor, but it dropped off quickly.
I haven't tried the Type A low resistance atty yet..
There is a new eGo mega dual coil carto that just came out. I'm thinking it will be similar flavorwise to the Echo carto's.

(Sorry if this is rambly, I kept getting interrupted while typing it up)

My first PV was an eGo-T, and I have to say that it's simplicity and reliability has a lot to do with why I was able to kick the analogs and stick to vaping. That said, I rarely use the eGo-T atties & tanks anymore, but I still use the eGo batteries a lot.

So my call is that the eGo-T is a great foundation device that you probably never will 'just get rid of'.

I'm with TJ on this one. My first (non-disposable) PV was an eGo-T, I had an issue with one of the attys and the company I got it from replaced it within a few days (shipping).

I've only had one of my attys leak anything, and that was when I left a full tank plugged into it without a battery, and didn't use it for a week or so. It was sitting in my carrying case, which gets jostled around in the car and such.

The eGo-T batteries are pretty nice, mine are all still working like champs after 2 months of heavy use. They fit nicely in your pocket and are pretty durable. Plus they have 510 connections, which means that you can use most hardware with them.

The Tank itself is very easy to refill and maintenance, the only thing strange about them would be if you decided to go for a mod and wanted to use your tanks on it. The cone looks kinda silly on a box mod, and you'll need a couple little extenders to do so.

    Good luck!

I wouldn't recommend an ego-t to a first time vapor. You can always pick up a standard ego and down the road pick up the atty and tanks. You can always get the echo-e cartomizers to use on the ego if you want something that holds a lot of juice.

Basic ego at Liberty Flights is $29.99 with the 20% discount. Get a box of boge 2.0 cartomizers.

    Down the road you can-

Get tanks & atty they're on sale all the time
Get Ego mega dual coil cartomizers - this is good once you find a juice you like
    Get clearomizers
Pick up an extra 1000 mah battery

I have never used the echo. The downside (at least for me) is it's not a 510 and everything I own is 510. Also it's hard to test out juice without an atomizer.
