why would you not recommend the ego-t for a first time vaper?

I didn't start out with a tank. I purchased one after I had my ego for awhile. So I knew how to vape, what an atomizer is, how to clean an atomizer, what to look for if I was getting leaks or getting dry hits. I had all the basics down because I started with a basic atty/cart and cartomizers and tried dripping. I knew what each one was like, the pros and cons and what each tasted like.

You may get a terrible plastic taste when you vape. Do you know what to do about it. What to look for? You may think flavor is lacking and think something is wrong with your juice. You haven't tried other methods yet so you won't know if it's a tank problem or a juice problem. For the record, juice flavors are cooler, somewhat more muted with tanks.

As a new person, you might be told to adjust your wick. We aren't talking about a candle wick, we're talking about something you can barely see when you look down into the atomizer.

You may not have any problems at all. Depends on your frustration level. Mine is zero and I tend to want to fling things across the room. All of this is a little easier after you've been vaping instead of your very first vaping experience.

It could be the way your vaping. If your taking very hard hits and it's not wicking properly. It could be your juice is a little thick. Possibly you wick needs to be pulled up/down (forget which) . In that case (if it's down) you can get something long and sharp and push the wick down a very tiny bit. If it needs to be pulled up, you have to get something to remove the wick plate and raise the wick slightly. Vicky at Cignot has a good video to watch of this. It could be the atomizer needs to be cleaned (there are videos for this), or there is still primer on the atomizer. That's if you get a very nasty taste.

I actually liked the tank. My first atty died quickly and my second one never worked properly. It annoyed me and I just went back to using cartomizers because I like them and they're easy. If the tanks were as easy as cartos I'd probably still use them. I'm a menthol vapor and like the cooler vape. I just think they were released before all the kinks were worked out.

You are ordering an ego? I really like the 2.0 the best. Or the dual coils. Are you getting them from Liberty Flights?

Good Prophets has 2.0 boge (just 2 boxes left) for 5.99 each Coupon code TVCfriend for 5% off
Joogler Juice has them and you get a free bottle of juice with each box. Code ECF5OFF for $5 off your first order.
Crystal Clear Vaping has a good deal on cartomizers too- both boge 2.0 or dual coil. I 'think' the code is ECF10. I'll double check.

Some great info in this thread.
I really think there's something about the bottom coil carto's that improve the flavor.
Both the Echo carto's and the Vortex's (G4) have some of the cleanest, fullest flavor I've had.
There's a new version of the Vortex's out at Got Vapes that fix a problem with the cap falling off too easy.
That was my only complaint about them.

I've got the eGo Mega Dual Coil's on the way, and haven't tried any of the other dual coils, so maybe they're similar.

I haven't looked at the Echo-E's since they came out, but since they're just eGo/Kgo's with 510 threaded echo carto's that would be the best of both worlds. (unless you have a ton of 808 carto's you still want to use)
